Look In Blue Dahlia

Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director of Estee Lauder created the Pure Colour Collection this Fall. It’s a new vision of colour for eyes, lips and nails, transforming ordinary colours, making them extraordinary.

I have never imagined myself going natural with the Blue Dahlia Eyeshadow Palette although it’s totally possible. So, let’s have some fun together with this ordinary palette.

For this look, I have chosen a semi-matte finish foundation, powdered over for a flawless, fresh and naturally face. I only applied Bobbi Brown’s Highlighter Pen in Rose on the high points of my cheekbones for some definition. Rest of the face is kept to its minimal as eyes will be the focal point.

I used all 5 colours from Blue Dahlia Eyeshadow Palette for this rather dramatic set of eyes paired with MAC’s Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Prussian all around to add that extra pop of blue.

I applied Estee Lauder’s Double-Wear Stay-in-Place Shadow Creme in Blue Velvet as a base for the eyes. Just a thin layer all over the lids and blend to soften edges. The lightest shade of sheer white eyeshadow with iridescent blue reflects is used just under my brow bones. Turquoise is used for the inner corners of my eyes and navy blue for the other corners. Matte black from the palette is used for the crease and finished off with the medium taupe along my lower lash line.

A lot of blending is required for this look and I finished my eyes before applying my foundation and concealer.

To emphasize the blue eyes an extra mile, I filled my brows in lightly and picked MAC’s Matte Lipstick in Kinda Sexy. No gloss but I used lip balm to moisturize my lips and smooth out the colour.

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Amazing.

Very nicely blended eye colours, looks like it’s done by a PRO.

You should have taken a close up shot of you eyelids, so your reader could appreciate you excellent piece of work & how lovely those shades are.

The look is very elegant ( you know, sometimes blue shadows=trashy ). Well Done, Joey.
