The Black Velvet Collection by Bobbi Brown was launched in Singapore, Vivo City on the 11th this month. I didn’t have time to stop by until yesterday afternoon.
It’s something new to me, seeing Bobbi Brown come up with such a dark coloured collection so I must check it out. This collection consists of new Eyeshadows, Kohl Eyeliners, Lip Colours and Lip Glosses. I was particularly interested with the eyeshadows and lip colours.
I picked up 2 Metallic Eyeshadows in Black Berry 77 and Black Cocoa 79. 1 Creamy Lip Colour in Black Cherry 50 and a Metallic Lip Colour in Black Garnet 27.
Black Berry is a deep wine colour with plum shimmer and Black Cocoa is a chocolate-brown with golden shimmer (my camera picked up a little green). The texture of both eyeshadows vary slightly. I find Black Berry slightly creamier than Black Cocoa and that Black Cocoa tend to have more fall out. Both eyeshadows are not superbly pigmented like their usual ones and the texture is less buttery too.
Black Cherry is the first Creamy Lip Colour I have. The formula is slightly thicker and stickier than any ordinary lipsticks and I guess this was the reason stopping me from getting one until now. It’s such a rich burgundy-wine colour, hard to resist this season.
Black Garnet is another very pretty shade. It’s a mid-tone chocolate-brown with golden-brown shimmers. It applies rather sheer which is great for building the intensity of colour as and when needed.
Swatches above taken indoor, with flash. Eyeshadow swatches applied with a brush on base.
Do you think you will pick anything up from this collection? Or are you waiting for their Holiday Collection to be released? I know I am. Already short-listing some palettes from Bobbi Brown.
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful weekend.
