Recently, I dedicated a post to this collection which includes all the items and prices, if you have missed that, click here >
Bobbi Brown introduced Choose Your Glam Collection for Fall 2010 featuring the Smoky, Sultry and Smouldering Eye Palettes paired with bright, bold lips. In addition, this collection also includes the new and limited Glitter Liquid Eye Liners in Silver and Gold.
The reds are fabulous, both in tube and swatched. I picked up Lip Color in Vixen Red and Hollywood Red. Vixen Red is a tad deeper than Hollywood Red, a more classy, sophisticated and mature red. Whereas Hollywood Red is a fresh, bright red, very fun and cheerful.
Now, there is a huge debut on the palettes. When I met them face to face, I was thinking – which should I get, which should I get? should I get sultry or smouldering? or both? or none?
Well, I ended up with the Smoldering Eye Palette.
The palettes consist of 3 eyeshadows and a long-wear eye paint which is new, I believe. I was very excited about the eye paint. By the sound of it, I can imagine its going to be creamy in texture and ultra pigmented. But, no. It feels like any other ordinary eyeshadows.
The brush that comes in the palette is actually useful as compared to other tiny applicators found in palettes from various other brands. I usually tuck these brushes and sponge applicators aside because they are practically a joke.
The double-ended brush is full-sized but shorter. The bristles are very soft too. The fluffy end is very similar (if not the same) as Bobbi Brown’s Eye Shadow Brush and the other end to Bobbi Brown’s Cream Shadow Brush.
The last thing I picked up is the Glitter Liquid Eye Liner in Gold. I didn’t get to buy it when I was at Isetan Scotts on Friday afternoon because it is out-of-stock. I got this one from Raffles City on Saturday. The packaging, texture and consistency of this liner is very similar to the MAC Superslick Liquid Eyeliners which I wrote about here >
Swatches above taken under natural lighting, out of the window. Eyeshadows swatched without any primer.
All the eyeshadows are quite pigmented and I tested the long-wear eye paint wet. The colour instantly magnifies and it applies very smoothly. The glitter liquid eyeliner is packed with glitters and shimmers, it sparkles like jewels. Grab the glitter liquid eyeliners in either colours if you plan to bling up your eyes, they are fantastic.
