Benefit’s newest addition to their Box O’ Powder collection - Bella Bamba. It’s a 3D brightening pink face powder. On their website, it states that one can amplify cheekbones and create the illusion of sculpted features with this 3D watermelon blush. Laced with shimmering gold undertones, Bella Bamba is taking eye popping pretty to the third dimension and one will never use traditional blush again.
Unlike Benefit’s traditional Box O’ Powders, Bella Bamba comes in a flip top box with a mirror. It’s a tad slimmer in terms of height too and contains the least product amongst its siblings, 8g and is made in USA. The others typically contains between 10 to 12g of product. Despite the lesser product, I believe Bella Bamba is priced the same.
Anyway, it doesn’t matter does it? Because Bella Bamba is such a gorgeous shade. I would personally describe it as a bright brink pink with gold shimmer. And did I mention it smells really good? I would totally wear it as a fragrant if Benefit comes out with one.
Wearing Bella Bamba in the picture below. The original post is here if you missed it, there are swatches of some bright lip colours too. I like how this blush brightens up my complexion without over doing it. It’s pigmented and I only used a little on both cheeks. It lasts pretty well too.
Here are some of the other Benefit Box O’ Powders I have.
Swatches taken indoor with flash.
Coralista is a bright coral which may look too metallic or shinning at times. It gives a very iridescent look to the cheeks and I normally use very little on the apples along with a matte blush. Bella Bamba has just the right amount of glow compared to the other two side-by-side. Sugarbomb consists of 4 flattering shades of peach, soft plum, shimmering pink and rose powders. When swirl together, you get a very natural flush.
Dandelion is the second Benefit Box O’ Powder I own with Georgia being the first. Both Dandelion and Georgia are finishing powders for brightening complexion. I used to use them before I discovered Make Up For Ever HD Powder. They are pretty much colourless when applied. Georgia blends into my skin flawlessly whereas Dandelion can look a little chalky. I don’t use them anymore because they are way past their expiry dates.
10 is a bronzing & highlighting duo which highlight and contour cheekbones in one sweep. I find it a little too shimmery to use during the day and I usually mix them both together to be used as a blush.
I ordered Powderazzi online early last year. I believe it’s a limited edition set which is no longer on sale (on Benefit’s website). It consists of Hoola, Coralista and Dallas – some of Benefit’s more popular blushers. This set is pretty compact, each shade 3g and comes with a cute little mini brush.
Coralista needs no further introduction. Dallas is a deep dusty rose with a hint of brown and shimmer. Great for contouring the hollows of the cheeks. Hoola is a matte bronzing powder for an overall looking healthy tan. It can also be used for contouring.
No doubt, my favourite shade is Bella Bamba followed by Sugarbomb and Coralista. Dallas and Hoola are great to have as I don’t have many deep shades like those. Dandelion and Georgia might come in handy if you want something subtle to brighten up your complexion. Give 10 a miss if you already have highlighters and bronzers in your stash – they are better alternatives out there.
