Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush In Or

Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Or is the other blusher from pre-fall Chanel Byzance Makeup Collection. Unlike typical Joues Contraste Powder Blushers which contain 4g of product, Or only contains 3g of product. It retails at S$65 as well.

Although Or is labelled as a blush, I believe it works better as a highlighter – or it was meant to be used as one. I would describe Or as a true gold with golden and silver sparkles running through gorgeously. It also bares the unique scent found in most Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blushes.

The flash managed to captured the subtle golden sheen the sparkles have on a yellow gold base. Or leans a little on the sheerer side as compared to Rouge which is highly pigmented. Texture is slightly drier compared to rest of the range but it’s easy to blend.

Again, I went through my collection hoping to find something similar for comparison but nothing even came close. So, I picked NARS Miltiple in Lamu for its sparkles and Chanel Pearl Glow Powder for its sheen.

NARS Multiple in Lamu has gold and silver flecks suspended in a creamy bronze base. The flecks are larger in size, making them more visible as compared to Chanel Powder Blush in Or. The sheen and after all effect between the Chanel Pearl Glow Powder and Chanel Powder Blush in Or are very similar, only one in gold and one in silver.

Chanel Powder Blush in Or is pretty unique in my opinion and I think it serves great as a highlighter on slightly tanned skin – bringing warmth and light to enhance and sculpt features. It will look beautiful when worn just above the blush as well. Or can also be used across the entire face as a light wash of colour and shine.
