Look In Topkapi

A beautiful Saturday today, bright and sunny out there but a little too warm for me so I stayed home to do a look featuring the new Chanel products gifted to me earlier this week, by the boyfriend. I think this look is pretty classic and can be worn for a dinner or to a wedding. For this look, I will be using mainly Chanel products.

For face: I wanted something natural but with a little more coverage because this look will be worn at night. I chose Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base to give my skin a little glow. Chanel Teint Innocence Naturally Luminous Compact Makeup provided enough coverage for me yet it has a natural finish. I used Chanel Éclat Lumiére Highlighter Face Pen as an undereye concealer and to highlight parts of my face. Set with Chanel Pureté Mat Shine Control Powder.

For eyes: I went in straight with medium brown all over the lid, up to the crease. In fact, I brought the medium brown a little higher than the crease. Then I applied dark brown on the lid and blend. This will create a soft gradient effect. Apply the silvery taupe to the inner corners of the eyes and dab the bright gold on the center of the lids – which will make the eyes appear brighter and bigger. Tight line the upper lashline with a black eyeliner. I used Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Taupe along the lower lashline and smudge the line with a little dark brown. Finish the eyes with some false eyelashes.

For cheeks & lips: Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rouge is super pigmented, I dabbed my brush on and had to tap off the access. You really need just a little for both cheeks. I applied Rouge just under the cheek bones and blend outwards and upwards to the temples. I followed by applying Or to the highest point of the cheek bones – it gives a very subtle sheen which is just the thing you need for this look. I feel that nothing matches this look better than Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy – since I don’t have the lipstick that came with this particular collection. As an alternative, you may want to use a deep burgundy red to compliment this look.

Thank you for reading, have a wonderful weekend ahead.

  1. I really like your pictures because they’re all so clear and I can see all the colours on your eyelids, even the shiny gold! Very nice look :)

  2. You’ve done it really beautifully and did justice to the beautiful palette. One of the best so far. If I had come across your fotd earlier, I could have no doubt been convinced to picked up this item!

  3. Joey! I was sooooo tempted by Topkapi too – just told myself I don’t need it. But I caved and got the blush in Rouge and the lippy in Byzantin! I like the eyelook! :D

    • Thank you Kas..
I think Topkapi is good to have but not a must-have because the shades are not overly, totally unique.
But having said that, the quality and colour payoff (I can’t stop raving about) is gorgeous!!
I will compare against NAKED and other singles =)

    • Hi Jacqueline,
Yes, the colours can be used alone or mixed together.
While using just one shade, the colour is not “boring” because of all the multi-coloured shimmers.
