Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette In 214 Blue Ribbons

The Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette in 214 Blue Ribbons came along with the Dior Blue Tie Makeup Collection For Fall 2011 as a surprise to me. It contains 6g of product just like the others and is also made in France. It retails at S$92 and is available for sale at Robinsons Centre Point.

This palette consists of a shimmery alice blue, a shimmery silver white, a metallic mid-tone steel-blue, a metallic neutral beige and a matte black with silver reflects.

All the shades have decent colour payoff. Texture feels soft and buttery like all the others I have. 214 Blue Ribbons is an overall cool toned palette but the beige added a little warmth to it which made this palette more interesting and wearable.

I am afraid my collection of blue eyeshadows and cool toned eyeshadow palettes are somewhat quite limited. But I manage to pull out another Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette in 034 Gris-Gris (from Dior Montaigne Collection For Spring 2011) to compare with 214 Blue Ribbons.

There are similar shades from the two palettes – like the shimmery alice blue, shimmery silver white and matte black with silver reflects.

However, I feel that the colours are more intense and concentrated in 034 Gris-Gris as compared to 214 Blue Ribbons. For instance, the shimmery silver white in 034 Gris-Gris feels more glittery and the matte black contains more silver reflects.

Overall, I find the Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette in 214 Blue Ribbons very pretty and interesting. With decent colour payoff and good quality eyeshadows which are smooth and easy to blend.

Generally, I don’t have problems with Dior’s eyeshadow palettes being too frosty and/or metallic and I feel that the black in this palette pulls all the shimmery shades together very well. I have not tested the longevity of this particular eyeshadow palette but I assume that it is as long-lasting as the others from the range. I will post an update if it doesn’t.

Looking forward to creating a look with items from this collection.

Thank you for reading.

  1. Hi Joey. I didn’t see 214 Ribbons in the first set of Dior Blue Tie photos. But I must admit it’s very nice! Especially the blue shade in the middle, it’s like an iron-greyish blue. Unusual. :-)

    • Hi Milktea,
That’s the funny thing with this palette.
I didn’t know there will be one and when I googled it, no results thus I think it’s a new palette..
      Shall find out more..
