A few months back, I ordered a few nail polishes from Illamasqua while they were having free international shipping promotion. Two of them are Untold and Throb pictured above. Illamasqua Nail Varnishes have never disappointed me and I am so glad I picked up Throb.

Untold is a red glitter suspended in clear base. To wear it on its own, I suggest applying 3 coats for full coverage. Throb is a blood-red in cream finish, very opaque – one of the most pigmented colours from the bunch, can easily pass off as a one-coater if one has no time for the second.
I intend to wear this combination for Chinese New Year. Red doesn’t get any brighter than this and it immediately reminded me of The Wizard Of Oz – Dorothy’s shoes thus the title of this post.
Nail swatches taken under natural sunlight, without flash – Nail Tek Foundation II Ridge-Filling Base Coat, 2 coats of Throb, 1 coat of Untold and Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
What is your favourite red combination and what are you planning to have on your nails for Chinese New Year?
Thank you for reading.
