Shiseido introduced their new White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream late last year and I have been testing it out from January. I guess it’s about time to share some thoughts about this product.

To briefly refresh our memory, this product targets dark circles in 3 effective ways – help prevent melanin, prevent pre-melanin and improves microcirculation. With these Dark Circles Diminisher, the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream promises a bright, youthful-looking eye area, free of unwanted shadows in just 2 weeks.
The Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream comes in a glass pot. Quite heavy but very pretty. Sad to say, I am not a huge fan of products that come in pots. I prefer tubes because tubes are fuss-free and I am lazy – lazy to use a cotton bud or spatula to pick up the product. But it’s really important to avoid using fingers as fingers carry bacteria and may contaminate the remaining product inside the pot.
Having said that, many products still come in pots.
Although the product is stated as an eye cream and looks creamy – the texture is rather smooth and light, almost gel-like. The consistency is buttery and spreads easily onto the eye contour area. This eye cream bares a very light floral scent and I believe this scent helps to calm our minds.
The product also gets absorbed into the skin very quickly, leaving the skin looking naturally hydrated (as pictured below).
First Impressions I really like the lightweight texture of this eye cream. The fact that it gets absorbed into the skin so quickly, my eye contour area doesn’t feel sticky at all. The formula also didn’t irritate my eyes, causing them to tear.
After 3 days No major changes.
After 8 weeks I realised a brighter eye area and I started to skip applying concealer under my eyes. I still use a highlighter pen under my eyes but some times, I leave home with only loose powder. The skin tone around my eye area also seemed to be slightly more even as compared to before. After testing this product for 2 months, I am only half way through the pot.
I have only started using eye care products in recent years – should have started earlier and I always think that treating the problem before it occurs is easier than solving it. It’s great to know that we have so many choices of products to use in the market. I guess we just have to find the one that works.
To begin, I don’t suffer from major dark circles. I do not need to use a corrector under my concealer to correct my dark circles. Depending on the amount of rest I get, sometimes the dark circles can be quite dominant. Pictured in the “before” photo above, is what I see on most days. I usually use a small amount of concealer under my eyes, use a highlighter pen along the hollows of my eyes and set with either Benefit Powderflage (reviewed here) or loose powder.
Differences in skin tone around my eye contour area to rest of my face made me look tired and may I say, older.
Perhaps, due to my less severe case of dark circles, I wasn’t able to see results in 2 weeks. It took me slightly longer to notice the difference. But at the end of approximately 8 weeks, when I compared the “before” and “after” photos, I can safely say that Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream worked.
I would recommend this product to
If dark eye circles are your only concern, I believe that this product will be extremely helpful. It targets right from the root – helps you achieve brighter eyes that seems more awake and beautiful.
The “greediness” in me constantly asks for more because I have more than 1 concern – I would pair the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream with Origins Plantscription™ Anti-Aging Eye Treatment (reviewed here) for brighter and younger looking eyes. One to be used in the morning and the other at night.
