Estée Lauder Pure Color Long-Lasting Lipstick In 18 Bois de Rose & Urban Auburn

I have some Estée Lauder lipsticks for you in this post, including lip swatches. Guess you would have already figured out, I am a lipstick addict – I love lipsticks especially if they are pigmented and creamy. Lip colour changes a look instantly and it’s the easiest way to bring a look from day to night.

This post features 2 Estée Lauder Pure Color Long-Lasting Lipsticks, each contains 3.8g of product, made in Belgium.

You will find 6 categories of lip products under Estée Lauder’s Pure Color lip range – Singapore receives only 3 and they are Pure Color Sensuous Rouge, Pure Color Crystal Long-Lasting Lipstick and Pure Color Long-Lasting Lipstick.

This range of lipsticks offer True Vision™ technology which takes ordinary color and makes it extraordinary. Comes in 2 finishes – satin cream and lustrous shimmer. They also offer medium to full, buildable coverage and promises long-lasting wear, fade resistant.

Bois de Rose* is a mid-tone, slightly dusty rose. I received this lipstick as a door gift during a recent event and I love it. This shade instantly made my lips look fuller and plumper. This shade is also very wearable – for day and night. I believe this shade will look flattering on many skin tones.

Urban Auburn is a deep brown-red I bought from their Summer collection in KL. Sadly, this collection never made their way to Singapore. On my lips, this shade translate more brown than red. It looks almost vamp-ish but I love the toned down version after blotting.

Swatches taken under natural day light without flash.

These Estée Lauder Pure Color Long-Lasting Lipsticks, in fact, all their lipsticks I have tried bears a fruity scent which I am not the biggest fan of – the smell lingers around for quite a while after application, not a huge problem but I would prefer them to be less prominent.

Both lip colours have a cream finish with a lovely soft sheen. They are smooth, buttery and extremely creamy – very well pigmented as well. Enriched with lip-loving ingredients, including apricot kernel, shea butter and murumuru butter, these lipsticks kept my lips feeling soft and well hydrated throughout the day.

I am liking the finish a lot – the formula seems to create a veil over my lips making fine lines look less apparent. I also like that the packaging features a transparent colour coded casing – so helpful and straightforward when trying to spot any particular colour.

By using the blotting and re-applying method, both colours can last me through a meal. I enjoy the luscious texture, it’s always a pleasure to apply and wear.

I would recommend anyone who seeks moisture-rich and colour-rich lipsticks to check them out when you pass by an Estée Lauder counter. They are definitely worth a look or two, their range of shades are rather impressive too – from nudes to reds.

Lipstick makes a woman sensual, powerful and kissable.

  1. Hi Joey, You look so sweet and pretty. I like the 1st and 3rd lipstick color on you. You still look pretty in whatever color. Love your posts. Beautiful work here. Thank you for sharing. Kudos to you..

  2. I have been using the Crystal range in Crystal Baby for the last few years and it is the most fabulous nude I’ve seen so far. And I love how creamy it is too! :D Also, love your pictures.

    • Hi Dottie,

  3. Wow I’m really liking the look of Urban Auburn. It seems to be the closest dupe to Rouge Coco Chanel in Baroque which I love but was discontinued! Beautiful FOTDs as always Joey : )
