Hello everyone, here comes the first issue of my top five monthly favourites. This series has been going on since 2010 and I create new layouts each year – do you like this new layout? It’s slightly louder and bears a magazine style. I have also added a little space bottom left for “beauty quote of the month”.
This month’s favourites are all over the place – no specific theme but they are indeed items I enjoy wearing a lot.
First up, we have the Shu Uemura Tokyo Lights Palette in 01 (reviewed here). Love the colours, texture and results from using this palette. Have been using it so much, I need to put it away so I can start trying other palettes. The shades are so wearable and work friendly – even the glittery shades provide a sheer wash of sparkles across my lids.
Chanel Joues Contraste in Fleur de Lotus is a gorgeous coral blush which brightens up my complexion instantly. This blush pairs very well with the eyeshadow palette above and a coral nude lip colour.
Have you tried the Burberry Lip Velvet? I am absolutely in love with the one I have – in 308 Pink Azalea. Thoughts and swatches will soon follow. Basically, I like how lightweight it feels on the lips – as if I am not wearing anything and it’s not drying at all.
I have been wearing lots of bright colours on my toe nails recently; and one of my favourites is Estée Lauder Absinthe* (reviewed here).
Last but not least, Laura Mercier Foundation Primer. Many thanks to Mag, who has kindly included a sample of this in my Christmas gift last year. I can’t remember which primer I tried from the brand before but I recall not liking it. This came as a surprise. I tested it out and immediately loved it.
It seems to smooth out my skin’s texture and foundation glides on so beautifully. I think it helps to reduce the appearance of pores too. I need a full size real soon.
