Hello everyone, let’s “try” to take away some of that Monday Blues with some cheerful eyeshadow shades from Make Up Store today, shall we? I have the brand’s Microshadow in Voodoo Fever, Yaya and Heaven to show you – they are from the Foxy Collection.

Each Make Up Store Microshadow retails at S$27 for 3.5g of product, made in Canada.

You may have already noticed and you are absolutely correct – Make Up Store has repackaged their eyeshadows. Now, each pot comes with a clear top – for those who are unfamiliar or can’t remember the shade names (like me), you don’t have to open each and every pot to find the colour you want anymore.

I am glad the brand has made this change – it’s so much more convenient now.

VOODOO FEVER

A metallic, frosty mid-tone apply green with multi-coloured micro-shimmers. This is a nice and fresh shade for highlights (inner corners of the eyes or center of the lids).

YAYA

A metallic, frosty thulian pink with multi-coloured micro-shimmers. Because this shade of pink is less bright, I think a sheer layer will pair well with any neutral lids.

HEAVEN

A metallic, frosty sky blue with multi-coloured micro-shimmers. Striking colours like this can be used as an accent to the outer corners of the lids or along the outer corners of your lower lash line.

Swatches taken under natural day light, without flash – on dry arm, with no primer.

This set of Make Up Store Microshadows are metallic and frosty – might not be everyone’s cup of tea but they are very nicely pigmented. The texture is smooth and the pigments adhere onto the lids well with minimum fall outs during applications. These shades are easy to blend too.

For me, I like to pair such metallic and frosty eyeshadow shades with something matte or satin in finish. I like to play with textures so my entire lid will not look too “over the top”.

A little goes a long way, because the shades are highly reflective, I avoid using too much – using too much makes my eyes look small. Use them sparingly and the effects are very beautiful – the micro-shimmers sparkles under natural day light and I love that.

It’s hard to pick a shade that I like from this set, I like them all but I find myself reaching out for Yaya most because I am still on a pink craze.

Thank you for looking.
