My blogging schedule seems to have drifted to a land far, far away. As I try to regain momentum, it’s hard not to play catch up on all the beautiful things I have missed posting. Even by saying so, I will be away most of this month – I am not sure how much time I have for this catching game.
A gentle pat on my back for doing well last week.
I guess you would have to bear with my impromptu post schedule for a little longer.
AUDI FASHION FESTIVAL
ASHLEY ISHAM & KWANPEN A/W 2013
Audi Fashion Festival took place at Marina Promenade this year – not as convenient a spot as Ngee Ann City in the past but definitely a location with lots of beautiful landmarks. I had tickets to preview Ashley Isham’s A/W collection.
Spotted some bold colours and textures on the runway – and I am loving the muddy greens, blacks and reds. All the models wear rocking black leather tights too, I wish I can wear them without suffocating my legs.
The show was a huge success and what’s an Ashley Isham show without some drama?
LANCÔME SHOW AT ION SEPHORA
FEATURING ALBER ELBAZ
A more recent event which took place at ION Sephora on a busy Saturday afternoon – the Lancôme x Alber Elbaz Show was also a huge success.
Lancôme collaborated with 9 of Singapore’s top makeup artists to create looks with their newly launched eyeshadow palettes. The looks were incredibly inspiring and beautifully curated. All models were dressed by local designer, Mae Pang.
SNAPSHOTS FROM INSTAGRAM
Although cobwebs are growing on Joey’space – someone bring me a vacuum please, I am quite active on Instagram. It’s a place where I share snippets of my life, my niece and lots of other makeup related things. Here are a few pictures from my account.
Click to enlarge each picture with captions.
And lastly, four Shu Uemura Gloss Unlimited I have been testing. So far so good, I adore how each shade transform colour of my lipstick underneath. The formula is lightweight, non-sticky and helps fill in fine lines on my lips – great for dry lips.
THE LITTLE GIRL
Speaking of my little niece, she’s 3 years and approximately 2.5 months old now – she’s so active and bubbly, she goes on and on the entire day. She is going for ballet classes now, apparently, she desires to teach ballet when she grows up. I love little chats like this, she’s so adorable.
You may be wondering what’s the sketch below, I tell you, it’s me.
The little girl drew me the other day. She said she didn’t draw my hair because there weren’t enough space on the paper. Well, not too bad a drawing is it? At least I have eyes, nose and mouth huh.
SINGAPORE’S HAZE SITUATION
I don’t quite remember that haze was ever this bad in Singapore in the past. Haze this year has definitely gone from bad to worst with a PSI reading of 401 on 21 June 2013 afternoon. I wake up to a house smelling of burnt forest every day during that critical period of time.
Wind and rain managed to subdue the haze this couple of days but is this it?
NOTE FROM THE HUSBAND
“Hello Mrs Mak, how’s married life?” This is a question I get asked very frequently. Couldn’t be better.
Mak and I have been living together for quite some time before getting married – I know all his bad habits, yes, and he knows all about mine. So, no surprises to each other as a married couple. It’s nice to know I am not “alone” now and I cherish every moment.
And waking up to an email like such (below) is beautiful.
A message with less than 20 words is pretty powerful for me. I smiled the whole day, even till today.
And so, we are off to our mini-moon.
What’s a mini-moon? Long story short, due to the current season and other commitments, we are unable to plan for our dream honeymoon destination and so, we came up with this mini-honeymoon idea – a short and hopefully romantic getaway.
Thank you for reading.
