For those who aren’t aware of The Sims, it’s never too late to start.
I never did until 2002.

For those we have not experienced “love at first sight”, this will be it.
I fell in love with it instantly.

The Sims is one of the most successful video game series of all time.
As of April 2008, the franchise sold more than 100 million copies worldwide.

The Sims Series lack any defined goals.
We create virtual people called “Sims” and places them in houses and helps direct their moods and satisfy their desires.

We can either place their Sims in pre-constructed homes or build them ourselves.

The Sims

The Sims is the first game in the series.
It was released in 2000.

Not too bad, I started 2 years later.
Am I considered one of the gaming pioneers?

The game uses isometric projection and features open-ended stimulation
of the daily activities of one or more “Sims”
in a sub-urban neighborhood near
Sim City.

Seven expansion packs and two deluxe editions with exclusive content have been released this game.

I collected all of them.

And Maxis decided to develop The Sims 2.

This sequel was released in 2004 and The Sims 2 takes place in a full 3D environment. Other additions to the original gameplay include aging through six life stages from infancy to old age, which eventually leads to death.

In addition, this game features clear “days of the week” with weekends when children could stay home from school, “vacation days” when Sims could take time off work, an “Aspiration Meter” that fills up or empties according to the desirable or undesirable experiences of a Sim.

Doesn’t it all sound amazingly real?
It is.
I bought my Special DVD Edition for GBP37.99.

And I bought all the eight expansion packs and nine stuff packs.

And they did it again.
Maxis developed The Sims 3.

The Sims 3 was made available worldwide last year.

The Sims 3 features improvements to the user interface as well as an open, seamless neighborhood.

As a Sims fan, I had to purchase The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition.
This collector’s set cost me SGD74.90 from Cyber Active.

But out of the entire Sims Series, my love stays with The Sims 2.
