About two weeks ago, I got a message saying Benefit‘s Stay Don’t Stray is now available for sale. I didn’t have time to pick it up until last Wednesday. Yeap, last Wednesday marked the first day of my 3 days of guilty pleasures. Here are some to share.
While I was at Sephora ION, I picked up my first Silky Finish Lipstick in My Treat. Heard so much about this range of lipsticks. Mostly was about Jing A Ling which I was very tempted to buy but I have a few similar shades already.
The texture is real creamy and smooth.
I also picked up their PowderFlage Powder Concealer.
The tiny fan brush is so cute.
Since the upcoming season is all about corals, I had to grab Coralista – a coral blush.
Close up of the shade and texture.
I finally got my hands on Urban Decay‘s infamous Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
I have no idea what took me so long.
Well, if I have gotten it earlier, I may not have enjoyed the new wand.
Picked up some leggings – which I have not tried wearing!!
A few tops and two scarfs.
The scarfs are really soft and comfy.
Managed to find something from MANGO.
I have not been there for a long time. The prices have gone up?
The top below cost about S$70.
I picked up some stuffs at Chanel too and while I was there, I randomly asked when the summer collection is going to launch.
This Friday.
Oh really? Can I reserve a nail polish? The turquoise one?
She was real nice, she took the samples out for me to swatch before I decide.
So I had a little peek-a-boo before the launch.
I reserved two lipsticks too.
But I didn’t manage to pick them up on Friday.
I picked them up on Sunday instead.
Day 2 of my 3 days of guilty pleasures – Sunday.
Nail Colour in 527 Nouvelle Vague (LE), Rouge Allure in 36 Darling and 187 Genial (LE).
Have you tried Make Up For Ever‘s HD Microfinish Powder?
I have been using it for a few months now and I am loving it. I apply it on top of other foundations I have as a setting powder.
I am up to try their HD Foundation this time.
Who doesn’t want to look photo perfect every time?
Picked up 3 Aqua Lip – Waterproof Lip Liner Pencils.
Only this time, I have chosen some louder colours. The colours are (top to bottom) 16C Fuchsia, 18C Coral and 17C Bright Orange.
A pair of suede purple ALDO wedges.
There were on SALE.
I remember them, nearly bought them long time ago but I thought it might not be comfy and for the original price…
If not mistaken, it’s going at 50% off.
Some clothes and flip-flops from M)phosis.
I am not particularly fashionable.
Best describe my style as plain and simple with minimal accessories.
So, M)phosis has everything I need.
I grab bags of new clothes every time I walk in.
At times, I try to avoid walking pass this shop – just in case.
Also, you may have noticed my clothings are of grays, whites, blacks and browns. Occasionally, a few pastel pinks and beiges.
I feel that these colours matches any makeup, any accessories and any footwear. I can get away with full-on heavy-duty makeup and still look human.
I can also get away with chunky platforms.
Just kidding.
This pair of slippers is real comfy.
I bought two pairs before and now I am re-stocking.
Also, I feel that clothings, shoes and accessories from M)phosis are very reasonable priced.
I mean, an average of S$25 – S$40 per top or bottom.
The last day of this phenomenon 3 days of guilty pleasures officially ended yesterday – I hope.
Walked around a bit just before my facial.
Got two of Benefit‘s Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner.
One in Tattie Tale – a shimmery beige.
The other in Strut, a shimmery gray.
The next set is a bit of a shock, to me.
Shocked I am willing to spend on Shu Uemura‘s Makeup Brushes.
I rarely buy brushes. Not even those cheaper ones because I always clean my brushes, say once every 2 days (also depends on usage). The last set of brushes I bought was Bobbi Brown‘s Brush Set at least 2 years ago.
And a few from my own line.
Personally, I am convinced that good quality brushes produce great, smooth and flawless finishes, for face, eyes or lips. I value and treasure this relationship with my tools. I treat them as an investment.
A long-term one.
To me, brushes are very personal and subjective. Some find it amazing but some may dislike it totally.
I have been sourcing for brushes since last year.
A few particular ones which my line doesn’t carry at the moment.
MAC, Bobbi Brown, Make Up For Ever, Make Up Store, you name it, I have considered.
So, why Shu Uemura?
The story starts from “Once upon a time…”
My first ever brush was Shu Uemura’s. It was a retractable lip brush. It lasted for years. My second Shu Uemura’s brush was a blush brush and it lasted for years.
Years = at least 5 years.
I still have my blush brush. In fact it still looks brand new, just a little wrinkled. I was just telling my friend how un-gentle I treat my brushes while bathing them.
Well, I can’t wait to try the new brushes.
Especially the foundation brush #18.
Thank you for reading.
okay, i think i am lemming for 90% of the stuffs u hauled, not good at all =.=
Ops, sorry about that.
These pleasures caused a lot of damange.
I guess it’s a seasonal thing.
I hope.
So far, I am real happy with Stay Don’t Stray – haven’t really tried the rest.
happy damages! LOL, i love to read all about the hauls, lem for them so badly and finally when i do part with e $$ for them = oh-so-happy-gratification!
Oh yes, it’s beyond happiness.
Hauls, wish lists and swatches entries are evil.
Sometimes, I shop at my studio in the middle of the night!!
Am retiring from shopping for a while now.
Could you swatche benefit Coralista & BB Coral shimmering blush?
Which one do you prefer?
I did a swatch today but the photos didn’t turn out very well.
Will try again tomorrow.
Althought they both look very similar, BB Coral is a lot brighter as compared to Coralista.
BB Coral has bigger and more golden reflects.
I would probably use BB Coral more often.
