Les Contrastes de Chanel Collection

Chanel‘s Les Contrastes de Chanel Collection for Fall 2010 literally burned a massive hole in my wallet. I didn’t expect myself to go all out for this collection. Neither did I expect myself to love this collection so much. This is probably the biggest Chanel collection I have ever gotten so far.

If you have been following my blog for a while or know me in person, you know I have a weakness for grays, mauves, taupes and nude pink or coral lip colours.

When I saw this collection coming, I knew I am in trouble.

First thing that seduced me was the Nail Vernis in Paradoxal 509, S$35. It looks very purple in all Chanel’s promotional visuals, have no idea why. It looks very purple in its bottle too but I know it’s not. I believe the model above is wearing the nail colour and it’s absolutely gorgeous.

My camera didn’t capture it well either, it looks completely different.

The blushes are real beauties. Every time I visit a Chanel counter, blushes are the last thing I will look at, or not even bother looking at. These limited edition baked Powder Blushes, S$63 each, are delicious. I got them in Pink Explosion and Rose Temptation.

The MA mentioned that these babies are unbreakable. I laughed and replied, “who would wanna throw such expensive and pretty things on the floor?” She looked at me and said “we did, we threw them as hard as we possibly can during training and it doesn’t break.”

oh okay,” I paused. Thinking in my heart, I will never do that – although for a second I was wondering if I should try.

One more Rouge Coco in Chintz, S$44,for me. I really like Rouge Coco’s non-drying and hydrating formula. I added 2 Glossimer in Petit Peche and Coral Love, S$38 each.

Les 4 Ombres in Enigma, S$83. I have been waiting for such a long time for this. Ever since I saw them, I knew I must have them. Can’t wait to play around with it.

Lastly, it’s my favourite all time eyeliner – Stylo Yeux Waterproof and I got it in Cassis, S$35. The formula glides on lids very smoothly and it stays on without smudging for the longest time. If you are looking for a long-lasting and smudge-proof eyeliner, try the Stylo Yeux Waterproof.

My first Soft Touch Eyeshadow, S$46, by Chanel. I liked Taupe Grise but Enigma has similar shade so I went for Vert Khaki instead. It’s a beautiful dirty olive-green.

That’s it from Chanel Fall 2010 Makeup Collection which left me pretty broke but a happy lady with all the makeup in my bag last week.

Did you get anything from this collection?
Do you think you will be?

I would recommend checking out the blushes as they are limited edition and worth a swatch. If you are thinking of getting something from this collection, go for the eyeliner or single eyeshadow. The eyeshadow quad can probably wait as it’s permanent.

The lip glosses are pretty too, I am not sure if they are permanent or not.

  1. OMG, I thought I am the big spender.

I got enigma, paradoxal, rouge coco rose dentelle, and glossimer pink teaser.

I am still having second thoughts about rose temptation & cassis.

    • I know right?
Rose Temptation is such a pretty colour, I use it to contour my cheeks – giving them slightly more depth.
Cassis is a dirty plum colour, nothing too fabulous – I just love the formula so much, I got it =)

  2. i had my eyes on paradoxal mths before it was launched and i finally got it over the weekend, ahhhh gorgeous! its like dark grey-y taupe with purple shooting thru it…

  3. I was only using 2 shades of Enigma on my lids today, the lightest pink one in the centre 1/3 of my upper lid & the deep plum smudged along my lash line – My eyes instantly brighten up & look more sharp & well defined.

This palette is a MUST HAVE item.

    • Normally I don’t purchase seasonal collections because of where I am staying – it’s Summer all year round.
But the colours of Fall 2010 made me go crazy!!
I love almost all the collections especially by Chanel & Dior.

I will always remember this Fall as I will be so broke by the end of this season =S
      LOL.

  4. Normally I am a Dior fan, but after buying one Chanel nailpolish I am a huge fan of the Chanel nailpolishes. I bought the 509 and got the pink explosion blush and of course the cassis eyeliner. Chanel’s waterproof eyeliners are so much beter than the dior waterpoof ones. It is the first time I bought a Chanel blush the sales lady put it was a colour I would not normally buy but it looked very good and gave me a healthy glow.
Which one of the blushes you bougth do you liked the most? I am considering buying another one.
