Have been wanting to try Yves Saint Laurent‘s Water-Resistant Eye Shadow for quite some time. I have not heard many talking about them, not sure if they are worth a try but I went ahead and got them anyway, knowing that makeup can be very subjective.
They come in glossy golden boxes and a mini brush.
I bought two colours to try. Amethyst Grey, a shimmery cool-grey with a hint of lilac. This colour is very pretty and unique.
And Golden Fern. I would say, it’s an unusual colour to pick as in the tub itself, this colour looks kind of murky but swatched, it’s a totally different story.
These Yves Saint Laurent Water-Resistant Eye Shadows are very different from those I have tried. Unlike Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Cream Shadows, Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Cream Shadows, Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Creams, MAC’s Paintpots and Benefit’s Creaseless Cream Shadows, these comes in a light and airy-mousse form.
They claim to be long-lasting and water-proof. Texture is extremely soft and they glistens with superb iridescent or metallic effects.
I find the best way to apply them is to gently pat them on lids with either a brush or fingers. Intensity of the colours can be built up by layering after the previous layer have dried.
Yet to put them on a test and I will probably do a write-up about them soon.
The packaging of these lovely cream shadows. Very classy and light, made of clear acrylic jar.
Items above are part of my Online Shopping Frenzy. I have separated them into individual posts either by category, brand and/or collection. I will do a summary of my purchases and a write-up on my online shopping experiences and places I got the items from at the end of all postings.
What’s your say about these shadows?
