“It had to be 30 Avenue Montaigne”
This season, it all starts with grey. A reference to the Parisian atmosphere of 30 Avenue Montaigne, this noble yet simple grey transcends senses and time. In an avenue whose purpose is to celebrate refinement and Parisian elegance, Christian Dior asserts his talent.
Inspired by the style and colours of his own childhood, he turns his dreams into the most luxurious Couture House. John Galliano pays a tribute to the classic New Look silhouette and reinvents all its fundamental codes.
The Spring Makeup Collection is an homage to the colours of legendary address. From smoky to pearly grey, subtly enhanced with powdery touches of baby and boudoir pink, all tones of Montaigne’s Grey are lifting up, evanescent, fueled by grace.

First, we have the Dior Vernis in Gris Montaigne 707, S$34.
Immortalized on the nails of the French Siren Marion Cotillard to appear in the next Dior campaign, the Gris Montaigne 707 nail polish pays tribute to an emblematic and luminous colour reflection the beauty of classy nails for an ultra-chic look. For a Parisian and definitely chic attitude.
Dior’s 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette in Gris-Gris 034 (S$90) got into my shopping bag too. It consists of a blue-tinged white with a frosted finish; medium-dark bluish-gray with a satin finish; pewter gray with a metallic-frost sheen; bright snow-white with a high metallic-frost finish; and a dark, matte black with silver micro-sparkle (colour descriptions extracted from Temptalia).
It’s a basic palette that can’t really go wrong, whether you opt for a safe look or a pair dramatic smoky eyes.
Next are two lip products, the formula which I love – Dior Addict Ultra Gloss (S$40) in Trianon Silver 707 and Serum de Rouge (S$49) in Pink Coral Serum 240.
At first, I didn’t pay attention to the silver gloss until the BA showed me how gorgeous it looks layered on top of a pink lipstick. So, it has to come home with me. The Pink Coral Serum is just too beautiful to miss, it’s an ultra silky, soft and applies semi-sheer, great for all occasions.
And lastly, I got the Diorshow 360 Revolving Mascara (S$62) which promises volume, curl and length with a lash-styling brush. Sounds too good to miss doesn’t it? It comes in a rather big box as compared to other mascaras. Also, it requires a little assembling before use.
For the first time ever, DIORSHOW 360 brings together all the tips and techniques of fashion show makeup artists. With its revolving brush and its extra-sculptable wax formula, the first Dior mascara that mimics a professional makeup artist’s hand offers an expert lash-styling multi-effects result: spectacular curl and length, lash by lash volume in a click, boosted by the technology of Dior.
Looking forward to try this new mascara and thank you for reading.
Yes, the hottest shade for spring 2011, Dior’s grey. The 5 colours eye palette is a must have.
I am not sure about the grey lipgloss. Maybe you’ve to put it together with the pink lipstick in your FOTD. I am missing your FOTD posting.
Yes, I miss doing Looks too..
Coming right up!!
