The Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-lasting Eyeliners

There are many awesome eyeliners out there, which is your favorite? Before discovering the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils – which are amazing, I have been using the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-lasting Eyeliners for the longest time and I am still very much in love with them.

I wish I keep track of how many Ébéne I have used up and replenished through the years.

In this post, I have all the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-lasting Eyeliners in my collection for you. A few of them are new as you can tell, bought them from Nordstrom a while ago because our local store doesn’t seem to carry them.

I believe Taupe – a shimmery taupe, is the newest addition to the range. It’s from the Le Regard De Chanel Collection For Asian Women released beginning of the month. The texture and finish are very similar to Rose Platine – launched together with the Les Fleurs D’ete de Chanel For Summer 2011 but darker in terms of colour.

Ébéne is a matte black, Espresso is a matte warm dark brown. Marine is a rich shimmery navy, Gris is a shimmery mid-tone grey and Violine is a shimmery iris. I find Rose Platine very different to rest of the formulas and textures but the colour is unique and gorgeous. It’s a silvery, almost thistle in colour with a touch of pink, very pearly.

Jade is also a shimmery colour and the name described it all. Black Shimmer has silver shimmer running through its black base – not as black as Ébéne, a dark grey? Cassis is from the Les Contrastes de Chanel Collection For Fall 2010 and its a deep eggplant.

These eyeliners are incredibly pigmented and stays well on my lids, even on the waterline. They glide on smoothly and can be smudged easily to create a soft smoky effect. They can also be blended out to be used as an eyeshadow base and they don’t crease. They are soft and gentle on the eyes.

Swatches above taken indoor with flash. One against the window with natural sunshine to show the sparkling shades better.

Have you tried these eyeliners before? I am looking forward to seeing more new shades from Chanel. These eyeliners come in a handy twist-up pencil which requires no sharpening but if you wish to, there is a detachable sharpener at the end.

Thank you for reading.

  1. I own Rose Platine and it’s beautiful and unique. It’s really unlike anything I’ve seen so far. I have the YSL waterproof eyeliner in #7 and it’s a beautiful shade but feels quite drying on the eyes.

  2. These are gorgeous. I have Celadon (it’s like an olive green I believe) and Cassis and I love both to bits. Cassis goes so well with the Enigma quad. You are right, that they last all day without smudging or fading. I’m a fool for Blue and Grey and Marine and Gris are calling to me. Perhaps next time 🙂

  3. I’ve read that thisis good and so is the Dior one that Sarah raves about:) want to give this 2 a try.. Sadly the UD pencil don’t work for me:(
    Thanks for this post Dear!!!

  4. Pleasantly surprised that you’ve done a review of these, I love them! I have gone through countless ‘Espresso’ and ‘Cassis” liners myself 🙂 Haven’t had a chance to try the other colours yet, but after seeing your swatches, I’m keen to experiment. Are the ones you have the complete set?

  5. I thought Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils was all I need until I tried Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-lasting Eyeliners! Chanel eyeliners is easy to apply, last longer than Urban Decay, not sticky like Urban Decay when applied on waterline. The Chanel eyeliners are pigmented and the colors are unique. Every brand has black eyeliner but Chanel’s black eyeliner is different. You can literally create a look with just the eyeliner and one eyeshadow, you will look fresh and natural. I love Black Shimmer! Thanks for the swatches!!!!
