This Fall, Clinique has released a set of limited edition colour collection filled with seductive shades, The New Black. The New Black is ultra wearable for a completely feminine look and versatile. It can easily transform a fresh day-time look into a sultry night-time look. As part of Clinique’s philosophy of offering a custom-fit beauty experience, items from this collection buildable so you can wear them together or separately as you wish.

Before I go into the details and products of The New Black Makeup Collection, let me share the birth of Clinique’s bestseller – Black Honey with you.

Unveiled in 1971 as Clinique’s new lip gloss hue, Black Honey took the market by storm and quickly created a strong cult following. Rarely can one shade of colour, the iconic Clinique berry shade, appear so different on everyone, yet flattering on all. The colour was an instant success and women swarmed to Clinique counters for their dose of Black Honey.

In 1989, when Black Honey was later launched as an Almost Lipstick, no one could have guessed the incredible impact it would have. Since then, legions of devoted women have been stuck on Black Honey. It has become a serious cult favourite that quickly evolved into an unforgettable modern classic.

A contemporary spin on a well-loved bestseller, The New Black range is delicately sensual yet utterly feminine, making it poised to become a beauty staple like its predecessor. Clinique’s Fall creation delivers anything from a look of natural beauty to one of a smouldering goddess. Expect to be smitten by its scrumptious texture and enticed by its versatility that will have you reaching for this highly covetable collection time and again, be it for a weekend date or boardroom meeting.

Sophia from The Makeup Blogette, Iris from Rouge Deluxe and myself got to experiment and play with the products this evening during the launch party, I must say the Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Black Honey really stood out – the shine is immaculate, so juicy and sophisticated but clean at the same time – if you know what I mean. It feels so light on the lips, not sticky nor messy at all. Larry Yeo also showed us a technique using the Gradient Powder Blush in Black Honey, in short, this blush serves as a 2 in 1 blush and contour in a compact.

More updates about this collection and photos over the next week. Don’t be frightened by the dark hues of this collection, they are gorgeous and flattering shades for all skin tones. Take a closer look if you happen to pop by a Clinique counter this weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, good night.
