Morton’s The Steakhouse

For the actual birthday itself, I brought Mak to Morton’s The Steakhouse. I made a reservation 2 months ago and last week, I called to re-confirmed my booking – just in case. I mentioned it was Mak’s birthday during the reservation and it was a real surprise to have our table decorated and menu personalized.

We had a personal server and he presented the menu and Morton’s specialties – which is of course, beef steak and its various different cuts and portions.

It took us quite some time to decide what we want.

While waiting for the food, we enjoyed the ambient, had a little chat and took some pictures before my makeup wears off.

I wore a Ruched Toga in Jade by Love, Bonito and a Black Blazer paired with a Chanel Necklace from Mak for my birthday that evening.

Absolutely love this bun – the outer layer is crispy and the inside is ultra soft – heaven when paired with salted butter.

Colossal Shrimp Cocktail as a starter. Oh my, it’s so fresh and delicious – it left us wanting more.

Our steak. He had the New York Strip Steak, Signature Cut, USDA Prime and I had Single Cut Filet Mignon served with Béarnaise Sauce. The steak is exactly like how we wanted – it’s smooth, juicy and tender. Like beef but not. Although the presentation of the steaks look empty and boring, the steak is pure GOODNESS.

Our side dish. Mashed Potatoes with butter, sour cream, bacon and spring onions – the perfect blend.

After our dinner, as the desert is being served, the waiters came along to sing Mak a birthday song. I can tell he is really happy and a little shy at the same time – I would be too. Having said that, half the people at Morton’s were celebrating their birthdays too, so it’s not too bad.

The desert. Warm Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream – greatest creation by mankind, period.

A man with many wishes this year.

This is our first visit to Morton’s and we didn’t know what to expect. I must say, we are very impressed with the level of service and the quality of food. From the moment we stepped into Morton’s, we felt as if the restaurant was opened just for us. I wish I could describe the steaks better like Andrew Zimmern tho.

Morton’s is for steak lovers, for those who are planning a birthday celebration and for anyone who craves for a full and satisfying meal. Morton’s left us wanting more.

Thank you for reading.
