Have you played with the new Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color? If you haven’t, go check them out because they are amazing – honestly. If you have, what colours did you pick? For more information about these new cream eyeshadows, click here. In this post, I will share my thoughts about them and stick to the end, I have swatches of all the 12 shades for you.
Not long ago, I had attended a one hour makeup lesson with local Makeup Artist, Priscilla. She did a full makeover on me, from skincare to foundation to introducing these lovely Shimmering Cream Eye Color and a couple of useful tips when handling with cream products. She also introduced the Perfect Foundation Brush which I will talk about in another entry.
The Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color comes in clear plastic pots with a black lid that’s shaped to Shiseido’s logo. Very light, compact and sturdy. Each pot retails at S$32 and it contains 6g of product, made in USA.
At the end of the session, I had a hard time deciding on which colours to pick – I ended up with VI 305 Purple Dawn, GD 803 Techno Gold and BR 709 Sable. I have done a look featuring Purple Dawn – click here to take a look.
The sun was shiny right through my window the day I took these pictures so I ended up with more pictures than usual. The eyeshadows look so beautiful under the sunlight.
As you can probably tell from the pictures above, VI 305 Purple Dawn has more obvious multi-coloured micro shimmer running through – this will create a more three-dimensional effect on the lids. And I am so glad I chose Purple Dawn as it look flattering on my skin tone. I tried some on my sister the other day (for fun) and she looks great too – she is a shade lighter than I am.
I have been using the Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color regularly ever since I got them. I use them alone – without any foundation on the lid, without any primers, without patting powder eyeshadows on top and they did not crease, did not budge, did not move and did not fade.
The texture is light, soft and silky. Glides onto the lid perfectly smooth without tugging. I use a brush and apply straight from the pot. At times I had to remove some access on the back of my hand. I feel that MAC 217 and Sephora I.T. Cream Shadow Brush 235 works the best. One brush does it all. Use “window wiper” motion along the lid and blend – it’s simple, easy and quick. I tend to layer more colour at the outer corners of my eyes to create more depth.
You can use just one shade or mix a couple of shades together. Look In Purple Dawn, I demonstrated using just one colour, I will do another look after I am back from my vacation with two or more colours.
All in all, absolutely in love with the Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color – I need to get more.

And a picture with all the 12 shades for you below.
All the colours have a similar texture except for WT 901 Mist – which is slightly more chunky and sheer. I believe WT 901 Mist will look gorgeous layered on top of any eyeshadows or to be used as a highlighter under the brows or for the inner corners of the eyes to brighten them.
The range of Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color may seem ordinary but they are beyond stunning – you got to really try them out in order to appreciate the texture, durability and shades. I am very glad that Shiseido have created these cream eyeshadows and the range of colours consists of everyday neutrals to some bright yet wearable colours. Two thumbs up.
