On Sunday, we visited The Rocks where the weekend market starts from 10am to 5pm every Saturdays and Sundays. We bought bus tickets for the Sydney & Bondi Hop-on Hop-off Explorer (click here for more information). The Sydney Explorer stops at over 20 locations which is quite convenient – especially for those who wants to hop-on and off several places in a day. An adult ticket costs AUD35 for a 24 hour validity and AUD56 for 48 hours. The Rocks is one of the stops and one of the pick up points is just behind our hotel.

The Sydney Explorer also stops at Queen Victoria Building, Town Hall, Kings Cross, Woollomooloo Bay, Sydney Opera House, Star City Casino, Hyde Park and many more.

As we had a good rest the night before, photo taking began almost immediately after our breakfast – from the hotel lobby to the bus stop. For this trip, I brought along very few makeup items – an eyeshadow palette with blush, a foundation, loose powder to set, false eyelashes – the basics. But I brought quite a few lipsticks with me to spice up my look.

For this day, I have MAC Lustre Lipstick in Viva Glam Cyndi under a matching lipgloss, MAC Lipglass in Viva Glam Cyndi.

 

Similar to the St Kilda Beach Market I visited last year (click here to read) but better. The Rocks feature mainly handmade wooden crafts, clothes and jewelleries, homemade chocolate bars, dried fruits and soft nougat. Very impressed with the selection of stores as each and everyone is unique – no two stores are the same.

The dried mango is amazing – I love them.

For lunch, we have our taste buds set on some fish and chips. We settled at a pub and the fish and chips was totally delicious. Initially, there were no seats outdoor but just before our food were served, we were lucky to have a table outside. The weather is too good to be staying indoors.

At The Rocks, many people were walking around with corns and it smells so good. So just before we left, we picked up some to try. The best corn I have ever tasted. Yes. Seriously. I am not joking. It’s soft yet crispy and juicy, oh my. A must try if you visit The Rocks. We managed to grab them at AUD2 (usual price AUD5) as they were packing up for the day.

Beautiful day at The Rocks and I had a great time shopping, eating and catching up with my cousin. Weather was great too although it showered a little – can be quite windy. We arrived at The Rocks just past noon and left just before 4pm. If you would like to explore the surroundings, I suggest you go earlier.

I find the items on sale at The Rocks Markets are off good quality but not as cheap as I would have expected – especially the silver jewelleries. I bought some clothes for my niece and each piece can cost up to AUD30. The food are priced more affordable at AUD2 for a chocolate bar to AUD10 per pack of soft nougat – great gifts for family and friends.
