When I was at Burberry, I swatched all the eyeshadows and all of them are gorgeous. And if I can only choose one, it has to be No.19 Midnight Plum and sure it is. Each Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow contains 2.5g of product, made in Italy. The eyeshadows are contained in a magnetic closure casing with the classic Burberry pattern etched on the lid. Very classic and understated just like their fashion line.
I am not quite sure why Burberry named the range sheer as they aren’t sheer at all. All the colours I swatched have good colour pay off – smooth and pigmented.
Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in No.19 Midnight Plum is a deep royal purple with micro-shimmer which bares a warm undertone. I think my swatches didn’t show it in its full glory – the colour looks rather three-dimensional in real life. It’s a very gorgeous purple I think many can carry off.
I don’t have many purple eyeshadows and certainly don’t have one that’s similar. Hope the swatches above will give you a better idea of the shade.
The formula glides onto the lids very gently and I think No.19 Midnight Plum is a gorgeous shade to be worn alone as well as pairing it with a lighter shade of purple, like MAC Satellite Dreams or something neutral. I didn’t experience any fall outs, fading or creasing even without any primer under the eyeshadow. It gave me a perfect 6 hours of wear in air-conditioned environment. If I happen to experience otherwise, I shall post a shout out.
All in all, I absolutely love the Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in No.19 Midnight Plum. I reckon I will be collecting them slowly and my next shades might include No.10 Antique Rose and No.15 Slate Blue.
Do you think you will pick one up or have you already? Which shades are you looking forward to purchase?
Thank you for reading.
I’ve picked up almond and gold trench. Love them both. Will be picking more up soon when they are officially launched here. Probably Slate blue, pearl grey, rosewood and chestnut. But the one item that i can’t wait to check out is based on the review from makeupcafe’s : http://cafemakeup.com/2011/07/20/burberry-fresh-glow-luminous-fluid-base/
This makeup base sure looks beauitful and glowy.
I can’t wait for the Burberry Beauty counter to launch on 22 Sep 2011, I guess it would be so much easier to shop with proper displays =)
The base looks interesting, thanks for sharing!!
I bought Midnight Plum too, I totally agree with your review. What a beautiful shade!
Great that you are loving it too =)
How much is the lipstick and eyeshadow? =)
Hi Han,
I bought both from Sydney.
Singapore is selling the eyeshadow at S$46 and lip cover S$43 if I am not wrong.
Find out more about the prices in my earlier post here.
Thanks xx
I got rosewood as my staple, and antique rose for special occasion. Antique Rose will blend well with Midnight Plum.
Am gonna check both out when the counter launches =)
Thanks for the heads up..
Oh Joey, I forgot to comment that your camera is capturing the eyeshadow palette ( shade & texture ) really well, almost like advertorial material. Well done!
Thank you David =)
It’s the sunlight I guess but Canon S95 is a brilliant camera..
