My 5 All Time Favourites For September 2011

I apologize that this post came a day late but nonetheless, I will be “filing” it under September – for easy referencing.

September flew by too quickly and I have been trying 101 new products, from skincare to fragrances which made it a little difficult to narrow my selection to just 5 numbers. However, I have been using these 5 items listed religiously (more than others) for this month and would like to share them with you.

Firstly, I have the MAC Haute & Naughty Lash on the list. I have been using this for a few months and never really realized its full potential until one day – I realized I can’t manage my lashes without it. As most of you know, I wear false eyelashes most of the time – I usually curl my own lashes, add a coat of mascara then apply my false eyelashes so the falsies and my own lashes gel together seamlessly. On days I don’t wear false eyelashes, I curl and put on 2 to 3 coats of mascara.

MAC Haute & Naughty Lash allowed this flexibility, thanks to the innovative dual-wiper system. Whenever I need just a thin coat of mascara (usually when in use with false eyelashes), I pull out the “pink” wand and when I need more impact (when I don’t use false eyelashes), I pull out the “purple” wand. Simple, easy and efficient. The formula has just the right consistency which I like, neither too wet nor too clumpy. It’s water and smudge-resistant and I have not encountered problems with smudging, tearing and flaking.

MAC Haute & Naughty Lash is available in only Black, contains 9g of product, made in Canada and retails at S$30.

Next in line is the SUQQU Balancing Cheeks in 02 Mukuge (reviewed here). The texture and finish is a winner for me. 02 Mukuge is a natural coral-rose duo which pairs well with almost every eye makeup or lip colour – gorgeous.

I have had the Benefit Powderflage in my drawer for the longest time. I have never appreciated its subtle highlighting effects until recently. It comes in a tiny round pot, much like a golf ball and a fan brush which I don’t use. If you have been reading this blog for a while, you can probably tell I am quite into highlighters and I use a highlighter pen for my under eyes. The Benefit Powderflage works just like a loose powder highlighter. It’s lightweight and it contains light-diffusing properties that helps camouflages fine lines and dark circles. I use it lightly under my eyes, forehead, bridge of my nose and chin after I have powdered my face.

For those who have the Benefit Powderflage laying in your drawer, it’s time to use it. I have recently found out that this product has been discontinued on Benefit Cosmetics Singapore Facebook Page. It’s also “out of stock” on Benefit’s website here.

Burberry Lip Cover in Antique Rose is my favourite lipstick this month. I love the full coverage it offers, it’s creamy consistency and colour. The colour is not totally unique but it’s something I can reach out for every day and night – no matter what eye makeup I have on, Antique Rose seems to pair well.

For more pictures and swatches of the Burberry Lip Cover in Antique Rose, check out my review here. I also did a look with this lip colour here.

Burberry Lip Covers are available at TANGS Orchard and it retails at S$43 each.

Lastly, I have Jo Malone Wild Bluebell in the list. Learn more about the fragrant here and a little of my thoughts here. I like pairing it with Red Roses and English Pear & Freesia. But I also like pairing it with Earl Grey & Cucumber for a slightly warmer tone. So far, I have no issues with the lasting power of Jo Malone Colognes – they last for the entire day on me.

Jo Malone Wild Bluebell is available at Takashimaya and retails for S$95 (30ml) and S$190 (100ml).

Thank you for reading.

    • Burberry Lip Cover is a great addition to my stash =)
The thing I love about Burberry is, nothing seems to be too “over the top”..
Which makes everything so wearable and also buyable, good or bad?
