Sample Testing: Clinique Lash Power Mascara

Sample Information

Clinique Lash Power Mascara in 01 Black Onyx
1.5ml, made in Japan

Product Description

Mascara with staying power. Vows to look pretty for 24 hours without a smudge or smear. Lasts through rain, sweat, humidity, tears. Yet the formula removes easily with warm water. Unique brush reaches and beautifully lengthens even the tiniest lashes. Ophthalmologist Tested.

My Thoughts

The first thing I noticed about this mascara as I pull the wand out from the tube is the small brush applicator. I love the size of it. The small brush applicator made application easy, even for my lower lashes. However, I think the consistency leans a little watery which can be messy some times and the drying time takes longer.

The shade Black Onyx is opaque and I like really black mascaras, helps to intensify my lashes. It doesn’t smudge nor smear just like how it promised. But the formula leaves my lashes rather hard and tube-like. And because of the watery consistency, I think it made the tips of my lashes droopy – not a flattering sight.

Will I Purchase Clinique Lash Power Mascara in 01 Black Onyx in full size?

The small brush applicator is probably the only thing I really like about this mascara so the answer is no, I will not purchase it in full size.

This is part of my Sample Testing Series where I try samples and answer the final question – learn more about the series here.

  1. I’ve been using this mascara for a few weeks now. I got it for the fun of it. I like it because it holds curl very well and is good at separating the lashes, but since it’s a tubing mascara it comes out in little bits of fiber. That’s a bit annoying. Otherwise it’s not bad. I still prefer DiorShow though, the wand is so sexy 😉
