My Thoughts

Each sample sachet can be used on approximately 3 separate occasions but it would be so much more convenient if it comes in a tube or bottle. An opened sachet can be messy and/or difficult to store and is prone to contamination so I always try to apply as much as I can – through to my neck. If my boyfriend happens to be around, I will get him to apply too so the sample is not wasted.

I remember the first time I tried the Shiseido Multi-Defense UV Protector SPF 50 PA+++ on, it’s so watery and light, doesn’t feel like I am wearing anything at all. It blends into my skin very well and because the consistency of this sun screen is so watery and light, blending was easy. I also like the fact that this sun screen comes with a high SPF 50 PA+++ – enough protection for sunny Singapore.

Although I love the Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection SPF 40 (reviewed here), I might love this more.

I feel that this sun screen is less oily then the Clarins one I am using. It doesn’t smell as great but they are both very comparable. It’s very hard for me to pick one.

Will I Purchase Shiseido Multi-Defense UV Protector SPF 50 PA+++ in full size?

Yes, this will be the next sun screen. I recommended this sun screen to my sister, she loves it so much, she is going to get one for her friend to try.

This is part of my Sample Testing Series where I try samples and answer the final question – learn more about the series here.

Thank you for reading.

  1. Hi Joey, when you’re using this sunscreen, do you have to blot every few hours like the Clarins one? I am currently using Clarins too and i like it, but am willing to try out other options 🙂 Thanks.

  2. Hi Joey, I am not sure if sunblock can be applied on eyes area too? I mean those areas also need protection 😛 And I wonder if shisheido suncreen will dry out eye areas?
    Thanks!

    • Hello Jessi,

      Happy New Year!!
Good question — I often ask myself that too besides trying to find an eye cream with SPF I like =)
For me, I do apply a thin layer of sunscreen over my lids and under (just what I have left on my fingers after applying on my face).
There are no issues for me so far, eyeshadows didn’t crease/fade/smudge due to the sunscreen but do bear in mind, the types of sunscreen I use are very lightweight.
I also didn’t experience any oil seeds around my eye area too so I take it that it’s safe.

      Hope I helped =)

  3. hi Joey .
I am a guy and wanted to try the Shiseido Multi defence Sunscreen that you have reviewed , BUT someone told me that it has glitter particles that shine when you are outside in the sun ,,, as i am a guy i really do not wish to have glitter/shimmer on my face , so pls advice me on the same.

    • Hi Mike,
This sunscreen (and many others) does contain reflective particles which reflects UV rays under the sun but in return, it does somewhat create a mildly shimmery veil over the skin.
Not glittery kind of shimmery if you know what I mean.
My husband uses it too, it looks natural enough and in fact adds radiance.
Get a sample and try for yourself, everyone I know likes it =)
