My 5 All Time Favourites For October 2011

Hi everyone, I am back and this month’s favourites consists of all new additions to my current stash. I guess from October, there will be a bit of shopping going on due to all the Christmas and Holiday collections releasing slowly.

First on the list is a replacement of my old brow gel. I have been using Urban Decay Urban Brow regularly and I like it. It does its job well. It took me a while to get used to the brush applicator as the ones I have used before are very similar to any ordinary mascara brush. This new brow gel from Urban Decay is clear and the brush provides firm and precise application. A reader requested for a post on how I do my brows, I shall include a more detailed write-up about this product.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade is probably one of the most longed after mineralize skinfinish when it first debut a few years ago. I don’t have the original version of it and I am not really a fan of them despite the beautiful veinings on most mineralize skinfinishes. Lightscapade, in the promotional pictures, look fabulous doesn’t it? But when I saw it in real life, it somehow lacks the appeal – the veinings look quite diluted. However, I really like the subtle sheen. I have been using it daily, under my brows, cheek bones and cupid’s bow – the result is lovely.

Find out what Mag from Makeup Stash thinks about this product here and a comparison here.

Lunasol Nail Finish in EX33 Shiny Gold is possibly my favourite gold glitter nail polish at the moment. It is gorgeous and it wears like iron. I had it on during my recent trip to Perth and it lasted so well, I am only beginning to spot some minor tip wear today. You can find some swatches here.

Next, I have the Chanel Top Coat Velvet on the list. Check out my thoughts and swatches about this awesome product here. If you are a fan of red nail polishes, watch them get a matte makeover here.

Last but not least, I am really liking Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in 31 La Furtive. I bought another one, shall update on that once I have unpacked all my shoppings. I have a total of 5 Rouge Allure Velvets at the moment and if I have to choose one, it will be 31 La Furtive. I have swatched them in this post here. Finding nude lip colours for me can be such a task these days because I look dead 90% of the time with nude lips but I am liking this shade on me, at least, with a pair of smoky eyes, I still look alive?

I just got home and am down with a flu. Shall approve and reply all comments as soon as I can, including emails. Can’t wait to sort out the 1000+ photos I took in Perth and upload my shopping entries. I will also pick the winners for giveaway part 2 tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and support.

Thank you for reading.

  1. Joey, do you line ur lips when you are using Rouge Allure Velvet 31? My lips are much redder naturally. I find that when I use it, it tends to get a little uneven on my lips, like some parts pale and some redder (my lips color showing). Annoying!
