Too long to remember when was the last time I updated The Journal. For the past couple of weeks, life has been busy – busy with all sorts of things.
Back to the very random updates for today, I have done a very bold look last night which I will finish drafting the post by tonight. A sneak peek of the look above, would you like to give it a guess? I have never attempt a look as such before and I have been tweeting about it recently – that’s the biggest hint.
Remember the post on 6 Makeup Brands To Explore a few days ago? I actually have that post sitting in my draft’s folder for months and the time has come. I placed an order with Zuneta and it arrived yesterday afternoon. If free shipping with DHL Express doesn’t impress you, I don’t know what will. Here’s a little peek at what I got. One more item to complete my order and I shall post about them once the other piece arrives. I am really excited because the missing piece – is something I have high hopes on.
On Tuesday, Mak treated me to Gold Class for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. Finally, the day came. I find the movie fantastic – from the wedding, the honeymoon to giving birth and Bella’s transformation. I am not a die-hard fan of Twilight and I have not read the books but I really enjoy watching the movies and following the characters through. Breaking Dawn Part 1 is easily one of the best episodes so far.
Love the $35,000 wedding dress and $1,300 wedding shoes. Love every bit of the wedding, its surreal settings and choice of venue to the vintage-modern theme.
The honeymoon in Brazil was really awesome too. In this episode, Bella’s grown into a less confused woman – she knows what she wants and is decisive (finally). It’s interesting to watch how adventurous (jumping off the waterfall) and dangerous (ahem..) it can be married to a vampire.
I am very much looking forward to Breaking Dawn Part 2 next year. If Golden Village were to host some sort of Twilight marathon, I might seriously consider joining in the fun of watching 5 episodes at once.
So, that’s that for Breaking Dawn. After the movie, we had some very delicious fruit tarts at Fruit Paradise. Have seen it around but this is our first visit. I had the Chocolate Banana – it was so good, I packed a slice home.
A few weeks ago, I bought a pair of flats. I don’t usually wear flats except flip-flops. Because of my height, wearing flats can make me look a little clumsy. These are from ALDO and it was pretty much love at first sight. I couldn’t decide between a red velvet pair and the leopard prints. Ended up choosing the leopard prints because I have nothing similar at home.
They are quite comfortable at first but not for long. I had blisters after wearing them for a few hours. I think I would have to stick to heels and slippers in the future.
Remember the Tokidoki 24 Karat Edition Pittura Brush Set I bought? The quality of brushes are very good. I have been using them frequently and I like how soft they are. I am terribly sorry if you didn’t manage to grab a set, let’s hope Sephora will bring in more sets. The charms are very cute and lovely aren’t they? Initially I took them out when I wash my brushes because I had to insert my brush guards. Once the brushes are dried, I put the charms back. But I have removed all the charms a few days ago because they can be a little distracting during makeup application – especially when in a rush.
The charms are nicely placed in my drawer now, I will put them back once in a while to admire and to be distracted.
And lastly, I will be leaving for a vacation in 2 days. Extremely thrilled but it was a very last-minute decision so I am totally not ready and I have not started packing at all.
As always, I have scheduled some posts to be published while I am away. I have prepared quite a number of looks this round because the festive mood has kicked in. Some wearable and some are just fun to create. Let me know what you think of the looks I have in line for you.
Today will be a long day for me. I will be running errands, going to the post office to send out some Christmas gifts and I need to change some Swiss Franc. I hope to be home early tonight so I can start packing. What are your plans this weekend?
TGIF, have a wonderful weekend ahead.
