Best Of 2011 – Me & My Blogging Journey

Looking back at 2011, I am very thankful that the year went by smoothly for me. 2011 was filled with joy, laughter, plenty of shopping and lots of travelling. Last year alone, I visited Hong Kong twice, Sydney with Mak and my dear friends, Perth with my sister and family, Pangkor Laut Resort for a summer getaway and Switzerland just before Christmas.

I can never say no to travelling although travelling can be more tiring and exhausting than my usual routine. I love seeing things I have not, experience the local culture and try interesting food.

And since I am not yet married with kids, travelling is a lot easier.

My relationship with Mak has also been amazing. Everyone who knows me can feel and see that I am a much happier person. He made me believe in love once more, he listens to my makeup ramblings and helps me decide which colours to pick sometimes. But I must admit that we do have bad times, times when we disagree with one another. I value our arguments because those are the best ways to understand each other better.

I was tidying up my pictures’ folder just the other day and oh my, little niece has grown so much. It’s incredible to look back at photos taken beginning of the year when she’s only 8 months old and compare to her now. She runs around the house, laughs, talks, makes funny faces and she often tries to imitate our actions. She is truly a gift to us.

2012 marks the 3rd year of Joey’space. For those who are new to this blog, a warm welcome to Joey’space. Before I continue, I would like to thank my family, friends and all of you for your support, comments and encouragements. Thank you all for being understanding and exceptionally patient with my reviews.

This blog has also provided me with many opportunities – attending media events and launch parties. I would like to thank all the companies and PR firms for your kind support, generosity and contributions to this little blog.

Through blogging, I have also made some friends whom I can always rely on to give me the best recommendation on products, application tips and tricks and of course the best deal in town or around the world – as you know, I am not the best person to speak to when it comes to deals. Some times I feel that you all know me better than I do.

Running this blog also tickled my curiosity cells, I am always eager to try out new products and explore brands I have never tried. Is it a good thing or a bad thing?

It has been an amazing and exciting journey so far. I started with nothing and I don’t expect anything in return. Blogging is my hobby and it will stay as one. It’s interesting to see how much this blog has developed in terms of layout, contents and photography as I browsed through some of my earlier posts. I hope I can continue and work towards providing more interesting articles and photos in the future.

2011 has been a crazy year for me, in a good way.

This year, there will be another set of new challenges for me which involves a lot of planning, time and sacrifices. No, I am not going to the army or training to become a police woman but I really hope I can embark what’s ahead of me, for myself, my family and my future.

I hope 2012 will be a beautiful year for all of you. With the series of innovative skincare and makeup products rolling out this year, I believe we will look younger and more beautiful than ever before. If last year was great, this year will be greater and if last year was bad, the worst have already past.

To great health and wealth, thank you for reading.

  4. I’ve enjoyed reading all your posts throughout the year. Your photos are so vibrant and the readers could see that whenever you do a colour swap, you would try your best to photograph it with and without shine. And you give the most honest opinion of what you think of the product. Through you I found out some new make up line 🙂

Just a suggestion: what do u think if you could do a comparison of swatches of well known make up brands and drugstore brands. example, certain shades which are dupes and whether do they go along well with other colours

Have a blessed and exciting year with Mak and your family 🙂

    • Thank you so much for the support!!
And thank you for the suggestion, I will look into it as I don’t own many drug store items..
