Shu Uemura Celestial Garden Eyeshadow Trio In Air, Light & Scent

The limited edition eyeshadow trios from Shu Uemura Celestial Garden Makeup Collection For Spring 2012 totally won my heart. For more information about the collection, please refer to my previous post here. While I was at the Hong Kong airport, I happened to stumbled upon products from this collection. I was surprised because the promotional pictures were not up yet and there were no testers nor displays.

I picked up all three of them. Each retails at HKD280 which works out to be about S$46 whereas Singapore will be selling them at S$65 each. Each trio consists of three 1g eyeshadow and they are all of a different texture.

Shu Uemura Celestial Garden Eyeshadow Trios In Air, Light & Scent

Open your eyes to the invisible spectrum of color and celestial glow that surrounds you. Limited edition refillable empty palette with the enchantment of the celestial garden universe. Enjoy three exquisite eyeshadow trio sets in spring celestial shades, take a breath of fresh air, feel the embrace of warm sunlight, savor the scent of blooming flowers.

Delicate graphics decorate packaging, as if the eye shades are delicately peeking through a sky of clouds.

The palettes have the loveliest flora graphics printed on the transparent acrylic lid and comes in a white casing. The eyeshadows in these palettes are smaller than those found in their Color Atelier range. Size of the palette is the same as their Duo Custom Case which can either fit a blush or 2 eyeshadows.

Shu Uemura Celestial Garden Eyeshadow Trio in Air features a glittery sky blue with silver and light blue glitter flakes, an iridescent amethyst and an earthy brown with pearl finish.

Shu Uemura Celestial Garden Eyeshadow Trio in Light features a glittery spring bud green with yellow glitter flakes, a pale iridescent yellow and a bronze brown with pearl finish.

Shu Uemura Celestial Garden Eyeshadow Trio in Scent features a glittery brink pink with multi-coloured glitter flakes, a soft, bright iridescent coral and a raw umber brown with pearl finish.

All swatches swatched on dry skin, without primer and photos taken without flash, under natural sunlight.

In the pictures below, you will find swatches of all the three trios. I have swatched all the glittery shades together and so on and so forth – in order. I think the last picture of all the three brown shades will give you a clearer picture of how they compare individually.

Let’s take another look at all the Shu Uemura Celestial Garden Eyeshadow Trios. They are lovely aren’t they? I think Light will fly off the shelves because of the green shade – loud, multi-dimensional and sharp, perfect for Spring.

Overall, I am very impressed and happy with the eyeshadow trios, not to mention I got them at a good rate. I think each of the three palettes have their own character and is suitable for different personality and occasion.

For example, Air is very subtle and calm, perfect for everyday and I think it’s work-friendly. Light is bright and cheerful, great colours to play around with for the weekends. Scent is feminine and romantic, like blooming flowers in Spring, I would wear it for a date with Mak.

The colour payoff of the eyeshadows are decent, they may seem a little sheer on my arm, could be due to my dry skin but I reckon they will work wonders on the lids. They are smooth, soft and buttery – the glittery shades do not feel gritty at all.

Another reason I like the palettes is because each of the browns carries a different undertone, very interesting – a little olive, a little grey and a little warm. All the colours compliment each other very well. I am so in love with them. I think they are possibly one of the best eyeshadow palettes, if not the best for this coming Spring. I might change my mind because I have not seen others yet but nothing seems to be as appealing as these.

I highly recommend you to check them out once they launch in Singapore.

Thank you for reading.
