Yves Saint Laurent La Lacquer New Blacks Trio For Holiday 2011

Yves Saint Laurent La Lacquer New Blacks Trio For Holiday 2011 includes 3 limited edition nail lacquers in gorgeous new colors for the season. Each bottle retails at HKD170 for 6ml of product, made in France – works out to be about S$28 each.

The pearlized, metallic dark colours will sparkle in the holiday celebration.

First saw them when I was in Switzerland but I decided to pass because prices were quite steep. When I saw them in Hong Kong, I decided to swatch them and the rest became history.

First up, we have 126 Black Bronze – my favourite amongst the three. It’s a complex shade – with multi-coloured shimmer suspended in a bronze, olive undertone base.

127 Black Lapis is a dark blue with blue shimmer running through.

And lastly, 128 Black Indigo is a deep purple with purple and pink shimmers.

Quality of this set of mini trio is way better than the other two I had – 43 Wintergreen and 44 Moonlight Blue (reviewed here). Quality is consistent throughout, texture is smooth and colour payoff is brilliant. They apply evenly, without streaking and is fully opaque in 2 coats.

As the name of this collection suggests, all three nail colours appear dark and black-ish but when light hits, the complex shimmer of each shade glistens. Making them very dark and mysterious yet captivating at the same time.

126 Black Bronze is absolutely love whereas the other two are good to have.

Thank you for looking.
