Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush – For Love Of Roses In Habanera

Let’s strike one brand of my list of 6 Makeup Brands To Explore and that is Rouge Bunny Rouge. Not long after the post, Zuneta offered free international shipping and I took the plunge. I actually order two items from this brand and today, I would like to share my thoughts of their Original Skin Blush in Habanera with you.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush – For Love Of Roses retails at GBP25 for 3.5g of product, made in Italy which converts to approximately S$50. An Illamasqua Powder Blusher retails at GBP16.50 for 4.5g of product, about S$33 and Chanel Joues Contraste retails at S$65 for 4g of product. So, if we do the maths, Illamasqua’s is almost half the price of RBR and RBR is almost equivalent to Chanel’s.

What makes Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush – For Love Of Roses so sensational?

Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush – For Love Of Roses comes in a simple, round, black plastic casing with white petals printed on the lid. The petal prints continues as a debossed pattern on the blush itself. It also comes with a mirror. For the price of almost a Chanel blush, I would have expected a more prestige packaging.

If we put the packaging aside, what’s inside is – amazing.

Original Skin Blush blends with a sheer, melting touch for a naturally luminous silky glow. A medley of active ingredients, including Uhaloa from Hawaii, (also known as Velvet-leaf) and modern technologies impart a long-term brightening effect.

Indian Gooseberry Extract stands guard against free radicals. Sheer pearls amplify the creamy soft touch and ensure a limpid glow. Innovative powders entwine with your skin to preserve perfection all day long.

Result is “your skin but better” effect; you’ll wonder how you blushed before.

Rouge Bunny Rouge

Swatch on the left is quite heavy to show more colour. On the right, you have a blended out version.

The blush doesn’t smell of anything in particular. The texture is very finely milled and smooth. It’s not buttery nor is it powdery – it feels very soft to touch and silky. The product adheres to the skin with very minimal or no fall-outs. It literally melts into the skin without emphasizing lines or pores. I would say the colour payoff is good, not overly pigmented but enough to be seen – I don’t have to worry about over-doing yet I can also add more drama by layering.

According to the website, Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush – For Love Of Roses in Habanera is medium, sun-warmed terracotta with a hint of rose and it’s great for any medium skin tones. They are right, I am loving this shade. It’s a 2-in-1 shade for me, I can use it as a contour and a blush. Habanera contains a slight hint of shimmer but barely visible when worn.

In the first set of photos above, I contoured the hollows of my cheeks with Habanera without any blush. For the second set of pictures, I applied Givenchy Le Prisme in Blooming Fuchsias to the apples of my cheeks and completed the look with MAQuillAGE Essence Glamorous Rouge in RD 791 Harmonious Red (reviewed here). The blush feels light, natural and lasts throughout the day.

Overall, love and I think that Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush – For Love Of Roses should be in every blush fanatic’s wish list. I can foresee myself purchasing Florita and Orpheline once they are available on Zuneta.

Thank you for reading.

    • Hi Jacqueline,
They are quite different IMO as Chanel’s are baked..
Both are equally pigmented but I guess this depends on the shades you choose =)
I feel that RBR’s blush is smoother as compared to Chanels’ but I love both!!

  1. Hi Joey
I have Habanera and Orpheline, these blushes are really wonderful! Love the smooth texture and the colors lasted on me almost for one whole day! You should check out RBR lipsticks too! I am sure you’ll love them as well! 🙂

    • Hi Esther,
Thank you for the recommendation, I will surely check them out =)
Orpheline is one of the colours I would like to try next, so many people are talking about it!!

  2. This blush looks really pretty on you. What lipstick are you wearing? It suits you wonderfully.

The only RBR product I have is a lipstick in Murmurings and I love the texture. It’s so moisturizing and has a wonderful scent. I like it so much I keep it in its box, in my makeup pouch so it won’t get scratched when it bumps against the other bits. I’ve never done this for a lipstick before.

I recently ordered the Mysterious Tinamou shade from Zuneta for the fun of it. Let’s see how that one turns out. Everybody is into Abyssinian Catbird and I wanted something else as I’m of Indian origin and am always recommended Gold/Bronze eyeshadows so I have a lot of them 🙂

    • Hi Fieran,
      Thank you very much =)
I am wearing MAQuillAGE Essence Glamorous Rouge in RD 791 Harmonious Red in the picture!!
I can’t wait to explore more of their line, more blushers, some lipsticks and a few eyeshadows =)
Yet to try the liquid eyeshadow I bought tho..

  3. RBR’s packaging is more artistic than chic. It’s like an impressionist piece while Chanel is more like an contemporary sculpture. Orpheline is a great shade, trust me.

You should try RBR liquid foundation ( pity the shade selection is rather poor ) & powder, amazing texture!
