Look In Mandchourie

A little mysterious, strong, dark and bold for tonight. Using mostly products from NARS including the newly acquired Sheer Glow Foundation, Duo Eyeshadow in Mandchourie, Highlighting Blush in Miss Liberty, Multiple in G-Spot and Semi Matte Lipstick in Joyous Red – which many bloggers love.

Nail colour by Chanel 461 Blue Satin with Chanel Top Coat Velvet.

For face: I applied a thin layer of NARS Pro-Prime Multi-Protect Primer as a primer. Loving NARS Sheer Glow Foundation as compared to their Sheer Matte Foundation – which refuses to adhere to my skin and kept sliding. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation is light and easy to blend. After foundation, I used Shiseido Natural Finish Cream Concealer to conceal the spots around my cheeks, forehead and chin (bad, bad skin day).

And as usual, Chanel Éclat Lumére Highlighter Face Pen for highlighting parts of my face and under my eyes. I used a brush and lightly dust NARS Powder Foundation over my T-zone.

For eyes: Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Skinny Jeans seems like the perfect base for this look. I spread the cream eyeshadow lightly over the lids and under my brow bones. Applied the dark blue from NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Mandchourie all over the lids. I used this shade to map out a basic shape that wings out towards the end – I think this helped my eyes look bigger and wider.

You can always opt for another shape that suits your eyes or taste best – it could be rounded, less wide or slightly lower for less drama.

After mapping out the basic shape, gently pad on more eyeshadow for depth. I have chosen a dark blue eyeliner for this look – apply along the upper lash line and blend with the dark blue eyeshadow. Use metallic blue from the duo to blend edges along the crease. Try not to over blend with the dark blue eyeshadow, try to keep a soft definition between the two shades and textures – I think it looks very interesting when we blink.

Add some mascara and false eyelashes to complete the eyes. I also applied a little MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Gilded White to the inner corners of my eyes.

For cheeks & lips: I used NARS Highlighting Blush in Miss Liberty to highlight my cheek bones – absolutely breathtaking, the shimmer is fantastic for a night’s out. I used NARS Blush in Douceur to contour and applied NARS Multiple in G-Spot as a blush on the apples of my cheeks.

Outlined my lips with Chanel Precision Lip Definer in 19 Lilirose and applied NARS Semi Matte Lipstick in Joyous Red with a brush.

Thank you for looking.

  1. The first thing I noticed were your gorgeous matte black nails. Are they Chanel Blue Satin or Black Satin?

Love the eye makeup. Haven’t tried Skinny Jeans with Mandchourie. Will definitely try that combination out one of these days. I usually use MAC’s Blackground as a base for my Blue/Gray looks.

    • Hello Fieran,
It’s Blue Satin but looks black after the matte top coat, ekk..
      Thank you!!
Skinny Jeans looks beautiful under blues, blacks and grays!!
Or if you want a neutral eye look to look cooler, more complex, Skinny Jeans is perfect for that too =)

  2. Such a sweet face. You made me buy Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita 🙂 It looks awesome on you. Is it similar to Joyous Red? Because in the picture it looks like they are quite close colours!

    • Hi Rara,
      Thank you so much =)
No, Dolce Vita is totally different from Joyous Red..
Joyous Red is deeper and more brown, almost like a brick red whereas Dolce Vita has more of a rosy sheen..
