First of all, I would like to thank Sabrina from The Beauty Look Book for introducing the brand – Edward Bess. If not, I wouldn’t have heard of it. And without her swatches, I won’t be able to pick up this palette either. You can find her review of this palette here. Edward Bess also released another travel palette call Back To Basics which Sabrina has also reviewed here.
Edward Bess Travel Palette in Berry Chic houses everything you need in a slim, black polished compact. It is light and sturdy, as the name suggests, it’s handy for travel. This travel friendly palette comes with a double-ended brush and a mirror – perfect to bring onboard if you ask me.
When Zuneta was having their free shipping promotion, there were plenty of items I would like to try but these items were not exactly cheap and I am ordering based on online swatches and reviews. I wasn’t 100% sure if I will like them. So, narrowing down to a palette that contains a bit of everything might be the best way for me to try out some of the brand’s products. Agree? Otherwise I would normally avoid palettes that consists of cream and powder products.
And so, the rest became history.
The Edward Bess Travel Palette in Berry Chic contains;-
-
Cheek & Lip Colour – 2g
-
Highlighter – 2g
-
4 Eyeshadows – 3.5g
-
2 Lipglosses – 2.5g
Retailing on Zuneta at GBP47 which is approximately S$93 for a total of 10g of product, made in Taiwan.
The Cheek & Lip Colour is smooth and creamy but not oily. It blends extremely well onto the skin even after setting my foundation with powder. It comes in a lovely, soft rosy shade. The Highlighter is less emollient as compared to the Cheek & Lip Colour – it has silvery pearl shimmers suspended in a soft champagne base, absolutely lovely.
The 4 Eyeshadows have decent colour payoff, not overly pigmented but buildable. There is an ivory, berry, pink and brown which complements each other very well. Eyeshadows are easy to blend and can be layered. The 2 lipglosses in pink and rose are also very lovely. They are semi-opaque and not sticky, feels light and easy on the lips.
With Edward Bess’ beauty motto of “Less is more”, I appreciate this palette more as it fits into his concept of natural beauty very well. The colours are toned down in such a way we can enhance our features without wearing too much makeup.
The colour combination of this palette isn’t the easiest to pull off but definitely something fun to explore.
I would recommend Edward Bess Travel Palette in Berry Chic to those who likes wearing neutral looks with a twist of plum and berry. With this palette, I am surely more open to trying other products from his makeup line. Perhaps my next products would be – All Over Seduction, Compact Rouge and Quad Royale. I am very satisfied with this purchase and did I mention that the products smell lovely?
Thank you for reading and I hope this post helped.
I really love this compact!! I need one….
It’s quite lovely =)
What a lovely buy! I was contemplating this but I don’t like having cream products in my palette with powder stuff too. Edward Bess is truly a quality brand. The quad Royales are great, may I suggest Monte Carlo and Summer In Capri. South of France is a little muted even for me.
Good day Jacqueline,
Thank you for the recommendations =)
I shall keep that in mind!!
The powder products from this palette doesn’t kick up a storm so I am quite relieved!!
EB foundation & eyeshadows are marvelous, I love the elegant eye wardrobe.
Thank you David!!
I shall keep those you recommended in mind but foundation is a little difficult for me to purchase online tho..
How have you been?
Have missed you greatly..
