For this year’s Chinese New Year, we have decided to stay in The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur. Located within the prestigious Golden Triangle district, the hotel offers easy access to the trendy, upscale business and entertainment hub of Bukit Bintang – not to mention it’s 5 minutes away from Pavilion by foot.
Their 893 square feet Premier Suite features a separate living and dining area, walk-in closet and full butler service.
We were served a variety of fruits and welcome drinks upon checking in. The room was spacious and cosy – atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Although the fixtures were not very new, they are acceptable. Bed and pillows are extremely luscious. I always feel that hotel beds are the most comfortable, I never wish to wake up in the morning and would sleep in for another 10 minutes or so.
The walk-in closet is impressive but I could do with a few sets of drawers for my T-shirts.
The bathroom is a good size with a marble bath tub and a huge container filled with bath salt.
Cleanliness of the room is average – a lot of room for improvement I say. House keeping didn’t remove used forks and glasses, they didn’t clean the bath properly either. Out of 5, I think I will rate a 2 partly because of the price we paid – I think we had higher expectations.
I guess it’s the convenience that might bring us back to The Ritz-Carlton, after all, it’s within walking distance to Sephora at Star Hill and Pavilion where we can do some shopping and eating.
My sister was quite unlucky as she was checked into a smoking room (on a smoking floor), the room smells horrible. We immediately requested for a change because little niece was with us – even if little niece wasn’t with us, it’s impossible to stay in that room. As soon as I walked out of the lift, I could smell the remains of smoke lingering – not good at all.
To conclude this post, I would say my stay at The Ritz-Carlton was pleasant but slightly below my expectation. I would recommend a stay just to try out their services and enjoy their spacious room.
Thank you for reading.
