A simple look featuring Le Métier de Beauté Holiday Kaleidoscope in Splendid Frost (more swatches can be found here). This eye kit consists of quite an interesting combination – taupe, grey, pink and blue, let’s say I don’t think I will use these colours together individually.
Do you layer your eyeshadows?
Nail colour from Rescue Beauty Lounge – Jane.
For face: Skin is getting better and I am trying a new base and foundation for this look. They are the Giorgio Armani Light Master Makeup Primer and Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Soothing Firming Foundation SPF 20 PA+++. I set the foundation with Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV Compact Foundation SPF 34 PA+++. I am very impressed with GA Designer Lift so far, I have used it on several other occasions, it looks stunning in both pictures and in real life.
After setting my foundation, I have chosen Guerlain Cruel Gardenia Météorites (reviewed here) as a highlighter – I lightly dusted it over my cheek bones, forehead, chin and on the bridge of my nose.
For eyes: I didn’t use any concealer under my eyes but instead, I used Chanel Éclat Lumiére Highlight Face Pen to brighten my under eye area and set with Benefit Powderflage. I went in straight with the eyeshadows from Le Métier de Beauté Holiday Kaleidoscope in Splendid Frost.
I applied a sheer layer of grey under my brow bones and went in with the pink all over my eye lids. I applied the taupe shade over the pink so there is an extra hint of warmth peeping through without the brightness of the pink alone. Some sort of like toning the pink shade down with the taupe. And I applied blue over the taupe. I applied a black eyeliner and blend with the blue, I also soften the edges of blue with taupe.
For cheeks & lips: Sculpted my cheeks with Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush in Habanera and applied Benefit Hervana on the apples of my cheeks. I kept my lips simple with a nude pink shade and layered some pink gloss over to complete the look.
Thank you for looking, happy mid-week.

This is a nice look! Very different to how I would apply it 🙂 I usually use the pink to warm up the gray if I apply the kit top to bottom in their Couches de Couleur technique.
Thank you Cindy =)
The Couches de Couleur technique is so interesting!!
Hi Joey! Loving this look with its subtle glamour. Have you tried Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15? I’m looking for a natural, light-weight foundation that stays on all day. Do you have any recommendations?
Cheers!
Eunice
Hi Eunice,
Thank you =)
I have not tried BB Skin Foundation so I can’t tell you if it’s good, I am sorry.
Currently, I am really liking Chanel Perfection Lumiere but it will not launch in Singapore until May/June this year.
Great alternatives – Diorskin Forever, Clarins Extra Firming Foundation or Estée Lauder Double Wear Light =)
Hope I helped, remember to ask for samples!!
I love this look! Beautiful shading and gradation of colours on the eyes. The lip colour looks very becoming on you! And I love the nail colour too. well done!
Thank you so much Huiping =)
I would never have thought of layering those colours together but it looks great. really unique and it suits you! quite versatile, too.
Thank you so much =)
I didn’t exactly know what to expect either xx
I’m really loving how your nails and eye makeup work together!
Thank you Jamilla, I tried my best =)
Hi,
I love your eye make up but I know little about applying eye shadow, other than just sweeping the eyelid with just one colour. I’m not even sure what brushes is good for what purposes. Looking at the wide range of eye brushes available, I shudder. Perhaps, you could recommend some good brushes to buy for applying eye shadow and show us how to use those brushes for applying the different colors? Hope this is not too demanding 🙂 Thanks so much!
Hi Eve,
I would love to share my thoughts of brushes + the brushes I enjoy using with you =)
I will try to do a few posts on them as soon as I have time!!
Thank you for visiting xx
What is it like wearing Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Soothing Firming Foundation in this humid Singapore weather? I have combination skin and I can’t decide which GA foundation to choose from.
Hi Ahwish,
For me, not many foundations last long in SG’s humid weather..
GA Designer Lift is pretty good for combination skin, lasts about 6 hours..
Ask for samples?
GA Face Fabric is quite amazing too!!
