Hello everyone, sorry for the long silence and slight delay in posting my 5 all time favourites for February. Shall post a random update of what I have been up to lately – life has been very hectic with some travelling going on here and there.
For the month of February, I have been going natural and light on the skin as well as my makeup. To spice things up a little since it’s Spring, I have been playing with bright nails. So here are my favourites for you.
First, I am loving everything about Estée Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer in 28 Teal Topaz (more swatches here). The formula, colour payoff and longevity are brilliant. This shade also flatters my skin tone and I have enjoyed wearing it on both my hands and feet. Particularly on my toes as it looks absolutely breathtaking when worn with black or brown open toes sandals. I must say, besides 21 Pure Red, this is definitely my favourite shade from the range so far.
Benefit Hervana caught me by surprise. It is a lot more pigmented than I expect and that’s fantastic. While most brands increase their prices of products, Benefit seems to have gone down – great news for us ey? The smell of Hervana isn’t as strong as Bella Bamba and if you know me, I love the smell of Bella Bamba – I once said, if there’s a fragrant like it, I would go head over heels about it. You can find more swatches of Bella Bamba together with all the Benefit Box O’ Powders here if you are interested.
Back to Hervana. It has an ideal colour payoff, not overly pigmented (in a good way) – think NARS or Illamasqua. It is not sheer, on me at least. With a light swirl with a blush brush, I am able to pick up just the right amount for one side of my cheek. On several occasions, I layer on for more colour. Hervana is my go-to every day blush at the moment.
Next, I have both the Ettusais BB Mineral Cream and BB Mineral Powder on the list. I might do a proper review on them if I have the time but they are amazing. I bought them when Ettusais is having a promotion last year and I got a cute suitcase which looks like this – I chose the pink one. I have only started using them recently and wondered why didn’t I start earlier?
The BB Mineral Cream provides medium coverage which is able to even out my skin tone, conceal red patches and doesn’t enhance pores. It feels light on the skin and I use it as an alternative to my foundation. I set the BB Mineral Cream with the BB Mineral Powder that comes along with it. The BB Mineral Powder is ultra fine in texture and provides more coverage. Together, my skin appears natural and healthy. On my good skin days, I don’t even have to conceal.
If you have good skin with little flaw, you might be able to get away with just the BB Mineral Powder. Overall, impressed with the texture and matte finish unlike certain mineral powders which create some sort of a sheen.
Let me know if you would like to have a more detailed post on them.
Lastly, I have the Shu Uemura Gloss Unlimited Lip Gloss in Blooming Pink. I love lip products but I am more of a lipstick or lip pencil type of person. I like lip glosses but not love – but I enjoy wearing them this month and one of those shades I always wear is Blooming Pink. The colour is nice and soft, nothing too overwhelming yet there is a hint of sparkles which makes my lips look more hydrated and plump. I also like the non-sticky and lightweight formula.
Thank you for reading.
Yes, would love to see a detailed review of the Ettusais BB Mineral Cream and BB Mineral Powder please!!
THanks! 🙂
Hihi,
Shall review soon =)
Hervana IS pretty awesome for an everyday blush! Ive been using it daily for the past few weeks. So believe it or not, I’ve finally come across the ettusais counter loll
Hi Jasmine,
I guess we are both on the same level on Hervana, it’s so pretty, I haven’t gotten enough of it..
I am slowly exploring Ettusais and I must say, they have a pretty good range of products..
Those I have tried didn’t disappoint at all =)
Hi Joey, can you do review and swatches on Hervana blush?
the color looks so lovely from the picture 🙂
Hi Monica,
Sure, I will try to include a LOTD with it too because it swatches quite sheer on my arm =(
