Late January, SK-II hosted an event at Alkaff Mansion Ristorante. The event was about achieving skin with highly defined aura and spotless clarity and it was presented over lunch – an interesting and fresh idea to me.
Alkaff Mansion Ristorante was also a new place for me, I have never been there before. It is located at Telok Blangah Green overlooking a beautiful park. This place is also very rich in history. If you wish to find out more about this place, you can read this article.
At the event, SK-II presented two of their latest innovations – the Whitening Spots Specialist Concentrate and Cellumination Essence EX. For more information about the products, simply click on their respective links.
At this event, the guest speakers – Grego Oh Makeup Artist & Stylist, Ashley Mak Photographer, Evelyn Tan and Jaime Teo, both Mediacorp Artiste and SK-II user, together with the host discussed about HD skin. From choosing the right skincare to achieving flawless skin that even at a close range of 20cm, the skin is bright and clear.
Why 20cm? Studies proved that 20cm is the most intimate distance to see someone – imagine, kissing. On an average, 20cm is also the distance we hold our mirror to view ourselves. Having said that, 20cm is also the distance to spot any flaws and imperfections on one’s face.
With all that being said, SK-II’s two new product extension claims to help perfect our skin to ease our worries.
Texture of the new Cellumination Essence EX is lightweight and spreads easily with fingers whereas the Whitening Spots Specialist Concentrate is thicker and richer. SK-II Trainer, Cindy Cheong mentioned that the Cellumination Essence EX is suitable for all skin types and it’s never too early to start. Cindy also mentioned that the Whitening Spots Specialist Concentrate is more suitable for ages 30 and above because of its specialty in removing spots – unless one has developed dark spots at a young age.
Like all skincare, listen to your skin. Go for a skin consultation at the counter before committing because every one’s skin is different.
Lunch was served in between the presentations. We had a light, three-course meal which includes a starter – Pan Fried Buffalo Mozzarella wrapped in Parma ham served with Herbed Marinated Artichokes, Linguine Pasta served with Mixed Seafood Ragout in Fresh Tomato and Basil Sauce. A main course of either Pan Roasted Cod filet served with Rosemary Potato and Aged Balsamico Sauce or Braised Veal Shank “Ossobuco” served with Mashed Potatoes, Horse radish and Lemon Gremolata – the one I had.
Finished off with their Signature Tiramisu with Pistachio sauce.
Expect a review of the Cellumination Essence EX and Whitening Spots Specialist Concentrate in the next couple of weeks.
