Another month has ended in 2012, how time flies? Beginning of March has been rather busy for me and I have also been trying quite a few products from various brands – reviews are all due to be published soon.
Weather has been extremely hot in Singapore lately and I have been going light and natural this month as well. Keeping my nails long for some 3D nail art in April so I haven’t been wearing any bright colours. I feel that wearing bright/dark colours with long nails can be quite scary, instead, I have been wearing lots of glitter nail colours.
If you have been a reader on this blog for a while, you may have noticed, I have never done a mascara review – except one, where I tested on lovely Nina. I wear false eyelashes most of the time, I just don’t think I am a good model for a mascara review and taking pictures of my own lashes is extremely tedious – tried and wasn’t successful at all. I shall try to ask Mak for some help next time.
Having said that, I am enjoying Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes mascara a lot lately. I traveled with it to India and Thailand – even in these extremely hot countries, including Singapore, this mascara didn’t fail on me. Thus, I would love to share my tiny thoughts about it. First, it smells extremely nice – I know scent can be subjective to individual but I love it. And the fact that the scent lingers around almost the entire day.
I can smell my lashes every now and then throughout the day, how awesome is that?
I didn’t experience any smudging nor clumping and I find the conical brush tip works well, reaching the tiniest/shortest lashes at the inner corner of my eyes. The formula is neither too watery nor too thick, easy to work with and doesn’t get messy. It also adds volume to my natural lashes allowing me to pick a pair of light and natural false eyelashes.

Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil is for dehydrated skin and Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil is for oily or combination skin. Although I reach for Blue Orchid more often, I am totally in love with both.
There are a few ways you can use this face treatment oil. You can apply a thin layer over your skin, after applying toner and skip rest of your skincare regime. Or for me, I like to use it under a mask.
Depending on my skin-of-the-day and how much time I have;-
-
If I am in a hurry, I apply Lotus to my T-zone and Blue Orchid on rest of my face – wait for 2 minutes for product to settle down and apply a mask over. 15-20 minutes later, use a damp clothe or cotton pad to wipe off. I have been stealing packets of baby wipes from little niece to wipe my masks off.
-
If I have more time, I will apply Lotus over my entire face, under a purifying mask and Blue Orchid under a hydrating mask. I guess it’s personal preference because the combination is so versatile, I mix and match these treatment oils with different masks all the time. Find out which combination works for you best.
I guess we get scared off when it comes to products labeled as “oil” but this face treatment oil is not oily, it’s very light and watery. After wiping off the mask, my skin feels clean, supple, smooth and more radiant. Some times, I will apply Blue Orchid to parts of my body before applying body cream.
Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Riviére and Épatant are my favourite eye colour combination this month. I use Épatant all over my lids and apply Riviére either to the inner corners of my eyes or center of my eyes to brighten and enhance them.

LOVE, Chloé Eau de Parfum is a gift from a lovely friend. I am addicted to it.
It comes in three sizes – 30, 50 and 75ml. The one I have is 50ml and I am considering getting the 30ml bottle because it’s so cute, I can bring it everywhere with me. LOVE, Chloé is very feminine and graceful as this fragrance is inspired by the intimacy of the beauty ritual. It’s fine, powdery and light.
Include notes of orange blossom, pepper, hyacinth, iris, lilac, wisteria, heliotropine, musk, talc, rice powder.
Lastly, I am sure you are no stranger to the Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes. I have quite a few shades from this series and I have been using 0L Mat Black and 24L Light Taupe a lot. Funny thing is, I only purchased the black last month to replace my old one.
I like using 0L Mat Black along my upper lash line and upper waterline to fill in the gaps between my lashes. The texture is so creamy, I can also use an eyeliner brush like MAC 208, MAC 266 or Sephora IT Brush #210 to shape accordingly. Stays all day without shifting nor smudging on me.
I use 24L Light Taupe along the outer 3rd of my lower lash line most days – this step has quickly become my staple because it adds extra depth to the eyes without having to do much. This shade is a perfect alternative to black or brown eyeliner because it’s soft and creates the effect of a shadow rather than a harsh line.
