Jo Malone London Blooms Collection

THE LONDON BLOOMS COLLECTION

Inspired by the British Garden, where surprising juxtapositions rarely happen in the flower beds by chance. Introducing Iris & Lady Moore, White Lilac & Rhubarb and Peony & Moss.

Jo Malone

Brief description of each scent extracted from the website.

IRIS & LADY MOORE COLOGNE
A mingling between spicy-fresh, common-or-garden geranium and noble iris, powdery and poised. Brought together on dry-grass base of vetiver.

WHITE LILAC & RHUBARB COLOGNE
A daring juxtaposition. Tart-vibrant rhubarb cuts through the soft lilac, rose and sun-loving heliotrope.

PEONY & MOSS COLOGNE
Contrasting the dainty and the dirty. The gossamer lightness of delicate peonies grounded in earthy green.

When information of this collection surfaced, I thought the scent I would love will be Iris & Lady Moore but that was last on the list when Kas and I visited Jo Malone last month. Instead, it was White Lilac & Rhubarb and Peony & Moss that appealed to me more. I couldn’t decide which to pick and that little voice inside me said “take both”.

But of course, that little voice didn’t work this time – yes, this time.

I picked up White Lilac & Rhubarb. The soft floral scent captured my attention and rhubarb emerges after – slowly making its way to the surface. As much as I like this scent, Mak doesn’t quite like it – he didn’t mention but I noticed he always sneezes when I have this on.

I don’t usually layer this scent but if I were to do so, Earl Grey & Cucumber would be my choice. Together, they deliver the freshness I often seek for in the late afternoon.

Which is your favourite from this series?

  1. I’ve not checked out these yet but I really wish they bring back earl grey cucumber. It really grows on me and is my favourite scent.

  2. I’m saddened I didnt get any of the Tea collection; what a dope I was. But so glad I got this WHite Lilac and Rhubarb! I looooove it. Strange that it doesn’t agree w Mak though – sads. Nevermind, wear it when you come shopping with meeeeeeeee!

  3. Nooooooo joey – I didn’t get Sakura either 😦 I passed on the whole Tea Collection also, much to my regret. Sigh. Am thinking now – should I get JM Red Roses or Penhaligon’s Elizabethan Rose … can’t deciiiiiiide

  4. The Sakura is the best! I love it. My son picked it out for Mother’s Day and I bought two more bottles before it disappeared. I was hoping it would be re-introduced this Spring but no such luck.
