Keeping skin well exfoliated and hydrated are my key concerns when it comes to my skin. Brightening, anti-aging, firming and lifting can be secondary once I have my basics in place – I like to think that these are add-ons to my daily skincare regime.

When I was introduced to the Clarins White Plus | HP Gentle Brightening Exfoliator, I was naturally excited because I like scrubs and I have tried many to date.

Some may find the smell of Clarins products over-powering and unnecessary but I absolutely adore them. mild blend of fruity and floral scent their products have – from foundations to skincare products. I find the smell sends a “feel-good sensation” to my mind – after a long day, it’s nice to smell good even if it’s bed time.

This product comes in a flat plastic tube – compact and light, easy to travel with. The texture is light, soft and creamy.

The pink exfoliating and refining micro-beads contain Strawberry Extract which encourages biological exfoliation, Grapefruit Extract which tightens pores and Raspberry Extract which brightens the complexion.

All the goodness suspended in a white paste that spreads easily onto the skin’s surface and melts away when in contact with water.

First Impressions I really like the mild blend of fruity and floral scent of this product. The texture is light, creamy and spreads onto my skin very easily. The micro-beads feels gentle on my skin but “big enough to feel that it’s actually exfoliating” – I hope you get what I mean. Some micro-beads are so tiny, I could hardly feel anything. Doesn’t leave a creamy film after rinsing off with water.

After 3 days I usually exfoliated once a week or when I feel my skin is congested with little bumps. Some scrubs can instantly remove little bumps but they come back the very next day. After using this exfoliator, the little bumps has significantly reduced, my skin still feels smooth.

After 8 weeks I noticed brighter skin, no break-outs.

Overview

My skin is naturally quite thin so I am quite cautious when it comes to exfoliating – I make sure I don’t overdo it so I only exfoliate once a week or fortnightly.

The Clarins White Plus | HP Gentle Brightening Exfoliator is gentle enough for me, I feel that it does its job without being harsh to the skin. Every time after I use this product, my skin feels soft, supple, clean and visibly brighter.

However, I did not feel that it has helped to even out my skin tone. Perhaps the results may take longer to show – I am more than half way through this tube and I will purchase another tube when this finishes.

I am usually quite generous when it comes to scrubs (for both face and body). I spread a reasonable amount onto my face, neck and chest area. I also find that exfoliating in a hot shower or after a hot bath helps as the heat helped open up our pores. Avoid eye contour and lips when exfoliating.
