This gorgeous Laura Mercier Lingerie Eye & Cheek Palette was released together as part of their Lingerie Collection For Spring 2012. It’s a new and limited edition item – the only item I bought from this collection. I am not sure if it’s available in Singapore as I got it from Bangkok.
Priced at 2,400THB which is about S$97 for 6 x 1.6g of eyeshadow and 2 x 3.3g of blusher, made in USA.
Housed in a slim and compact casing with an ideal semi-matte finish spells modern, portable and practical to me. It doesn’t come with any brushes but it has a very good size mirror. This palette measures approximately 11.5cm by 7.5cm which is a very comfortable handheld size for me too.
Seems like the packaging alone has already won me over eh?
The palette is also not too heavy, easy to carry around with me in my makeup pouch if I need to touch-up or change into an evening look on-the-go.
In this palette, you will find 6 shades for the eyes and two shades for the cheeks – together, these shades will create a soft, feminine and radiant look.

All the 6 eyeshadows have decent colour payoff. Texture of the Matte Eye Colours are a little powdery but most matte shades across other brands tend to have a similar feel. Performance of the Luster Eye Colours seem to be the most impressive and isn’t African Violet divine?
Depending on the angle, African Violet looks different – under natural sunlight and in the dark.
Buff Pearl, Tawny Apricot and African Violet have a very luxe and smooth texture, almost creamy – close to those of Urban Decay eyeshadows. The melting texture made blending easy with almost zero fall-outs.
Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour is a light-as-air, velvety powder blush that sweeps on silky sheer color easily and evenly. With skin-silkening natural botanicals, skin not only looks but also feels beautiful all day long.
Both cheek colours in this palette are lovely and I am particularly drawn to Rose Desire – it’s a bright pop of pink that blends out evenly and makes my cheeks look as if they are blushing naturally. Fresh Peach blends in too well on my arm as my arm is slightly more tan than my face. It’s a beautiful shade, it gives a very natural sheen on my cheeks and I like to use it together with a bronzer.
The Laura Mercier Lingerie Eye & Cheek Palette is also one Pixiwoo’s favourite product this season. Check out their video here and blog post here.
The Overview
I wouldn’t say the shades in this palette are unique – I believe most shades exclusive to this palette can easily be found and you may probably already have them in your drawers. But having all these shades in one palette is just too convenient and simple.
I like that this palette consists of both shimmery and matte hues for the eyes – I can create multiple looks, from natural everyday look to a more sophisticated evening look or even a pair of sultry eyes for partying. I also like the fact that this palette contains both cool and warm tone shades, I think this is what makes this palette a success – it’s suitable for most skin tones.
Overall, I like this palette a lot.
I would recommend this palette to
If you don’t have any colours similar, this is an incredibly handy palette to own. Or if you are constantly on-the-go, this palette can accompany you everywhere.
If you already have enough neutral shades in your drawer, skip this palette but consider purchasing African Violet and Black Plum – they are gorgeous. On the other hand, if you are a blush fanatic, I think you will probably dive straight into getting this palette anyway because both cheek hues are loves.
