Last year, Dior wowed us with their Dior Addict Lipstick (featured here) – this year, Dior did it again, with their new Dior Addict EXTREME (introduced here). I wouldn’t say I am a huge fan of the Dior Addict Lipsticks because I only own two of them. When they first launched with 44 shades, I was lost.

Back to the Dior Addict EXTREME – they come in the most stylish black casing, ever.

Today, I have 486 Cruise and 857 Princess for you.

486 Cruise from the Riviera Style – featuring sunny colours, the carefree and elegant spirit of the croistte – is a soft, petal-pink with a touch of rose – extremely versatile, appropriate for work and looks dazzling during the day and in the night.

On the other hand, 857 Princess from the Plaza Style – featuring depth and intensity, the extreme glamor of extravagant refinement – is a rich blue-tone red with a hint of cherry – an elegant and sophisticated colour when applied fully but a young and playful hue when layered over lip balm lightly.

The Dior Addict EXTREME bears a light floral scent, very pleasant and merely noticeable once worn. The packaging is identical to the Dior Addict Lipsticks but in black – I particularly love the sound when the lipstick clicks into place with the lid. It’s secure and I know my lipstick will not ruin my makeup pouch.

I would say both these shades offer buildable colour payoff for my lips. I can go as sheer as I like by dabbing the lipstick on or as full and intense as I want with a lipstick or applying straight from the tube.

The texture is silky smooth like all Dior lipsticks I have. It’s creamy but not soft – I think it will take a long time to finish a tube of Dior Addict EXTREME. The feel is similar to Dior Addict Lipsticks but with more intense colouration and less shine.

If I may compare these lipsticks with other Dior lipsticks I have – the Rouge Dior range has the most intense colour payoff, feels creamier and heavier (but still feels light on the lips), the Dior Addict Lipstick has more shine with sheerer colour payoff and the Rouge Sérum has a much softer and creamier texture with medium colour payoff.

And in terms of their lasting power, I think Rouge Dior lasts the longest on me, followed by Dior Addict EXTREME. Both Dior Addict Lipstick and Rouge Sérum merely stays through a cup of coffee.

I really like the selection of the new Dior Addict EXTREME – the range is stylish and chic, there’s a shade for every occasion. I also like the texture of them, silky and glides on smoothly. These lipsticks also offer even colour distribution which is a plus.

They are not something you need to rush out to buy but definitely worth a look. If you are looking for a lipstick that is lasting, comfortable to wear, hydrating and rich in colour – these may be in your favor.
