RMK Sprinkling Colours Makeup Collection For Spring 2012

Have been awhile since I shopped at RMK so one day, I decided to check out what’s available and I ended up with three items from their SS12 Collection. Subsequently, after my purchases, I received a 20% discount voucher for my birthday month – I spent it on some base products and I shall update you about them in a later date.

I picked up an eyeshadow palette, a blush palette and a lipstick. I have never tried their eyeshadows and lipsticks before.

In this post, I have included more pictures of the products, swatches and some initial thoughts about them. I may not have time to review each of them, I hope you understand. Happy browsing.

First up, I have the RMK Ingenious Natural Eyes N in 07 Purple for you. Retails at S$102 for 4.8g of product, made in Japan.

According to the brand, the RMK Ingenious Natural Eyes N features a breath-taking range of 4-colours eye palettes that allow you to create different looks. Each comes with 4 different hues. You can layer or blend together to create unique shades. The special formula prevents the colours from discolouration even when blended, ensuring a bright and vivid finish on your eyes.

This combination is new for SS12 and it will be added to their permanent collection.

Consists of an iridescent purple, champagne pink, sky blue and deep grey. All the shades are shimmery and contains multi-coloured shimmers that no doubt, glistens beautifully under the light. The texture is smooth and not gritty at all – powdery yet doesn’t create a storm when applying.

However, all the shades are rather sheer. It’s ideal for a sheer wash of colour on the lids or layering over a base – eyeshadow primer or cream eyeshadow bases.

For me, I prefer wearing over an eyeshadow base. I apply the base colour (can be purple, blue or pink) with a big fluffy brush like Bobbi Brown Eye Sweep Brush, realTechniques Domed Shadow Brush or Smashbox Tapered Shadow Brush for a sheer wash of colour.

Apply an eyeliner along the upper lash line and blend the edges with the grey colour using a pencil brush like Sephora Professionnel Dome Shadow Brush or Urban Decay 24/7 Blending Brush. By using this application method, I could easily achieve an everyday day-look with a touch of colour. Very understated and quite.

If you are someone who likes rich and intense colour payoff, this palette might not be for you.

As you may have noticed, I can never get away from rosy hues and RMK Irresistible Lips C in EX05 Rose is such a gorgeous rosy shade for the lips. Retails at S$59 for 3.8g of product, made in Japan.

I love its melting and extremely creamy texture. Glides onto my lips easily and they are formulated to retain an abundance amount of moisture – perfect for my dry lips. Each of these lipsticks is also scented with a sweet cassis fragrance to awaken our senses.

It has a glossy finish which I really like, feels light on the lips and this shade brightens up my complexion instantly.

Lastly, I have the new and limited RMK Sprinkling Cheeks in 01 Pink for you. Retails at S$68 for 3.2g of product, made in Japan.

According to the brand, the two hues work together to deliver soft, crystalline definition to complete the season’s statement look. First apply the creamy base colour to correct the skin tone, and then apply the cheek powder on top. Choose from lovely Pink, healthy Orange and sophisticated Brown.

Texture of the base in somewhere in between being creamy and powdery – a cross between both, it has an almost creamy touch but not exactly a cream (I hope you know what I am trying to say). It glides onto the skin very smoothly and velvety – and it is quite shimmering too. But don’t be afraid, it doesn’t emphasize pores or fine lines – I usually apply the base on my cheek bones which doubles up as a highlighter.

The cheek powder is soft and finely milled – contains micro-shimmer which are merely visible when worn. Once I apply the cheek powder over the base, I get the a very beautiful blush + highlight. I think this product is worth a look.

Thank you for reading, hope you find the swatches helpful.
