Good morning everyone, I am back with some updates!! From Russell Peters Notorious World Tour 2012, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at ArtScience Museum, day trip to Johor Premium Outlets to random shoppings and more.
Nearly a quarter of a million people visited Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition as this year commemorate its 100th year anniversary. Mak and I have always been talking about visiting the exhibition but never really had time. During its last week, we made time for it but some how, the exhibition wasn’t as impressive as we would have expected.
The experience was surreal and emotional tho. Walking through spaces with remains and stories of the passengers and crew.
Nonetheless, Mak and I had a wonderful time. We were quite touristy that afternoon – armed with a camera, constantly snapping pictures, of ourselves and the buildings.
Sometimes, it’s quite difficult to find things to do as a couple – movies, dinners, shoppings. Recently, both of us have been terribly busy with work – most of the week, we have only 1 day to be together (with no work at all). I think we treasure that 1 day of being together a lot more as compared to previously. We try to plan our outings carefully so we can get the most out of it.
After 22 days, I removed my set of Birthday Nails. The set still looked absolutely amazing – still glossy and all the nail art were still looking fresh. Apart from my dry cuticles and out-growing nails, every thing is perfect – the power of gelish, oh yes!
And the fascinating thing is, I did my usual household chores like washing the toilet and dishes etc.
My own nails were getting way too long tho but still no major problems with typing, applying makeup, wearing lenses etc. But I really miss painting my nails. I have over 10 new nail polishes to swatch, expect lots of nail swatches in the next couple of weeks.
Sneak peek at some of the nail polishes awaiting for swatches patiently.
The manicurist used a nail clipper to remove the nail art, filed surface of the gelish and placed a cotton pad soaked with pure acetone on my nails – wrapped with aluminium foil. After about 10 minutes, she removed the aluminium foil and lightly filed off any remaining gelish.
My nails were not as soft or brittle as I would have imagine but very dry – and slightly more yellow.
I had my rounded nails trimmed short and square this time round – ready to do some serious nail swatching project at home. Will I do gelish again? Not any time soon, I think they are not as damaging as hard/soft gel but I really didn’t like the pure acetone. Even the skin around my nails are very dry – I had to apply heavy dose of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream over my finger tips for 3 consecutive nights.
Russell Peters Notorious World Tour 2012 was awesome. He is just too amazing but I really don’t know how much of what he said was true, coming from him? Seriously, he is hilarious – must watch if he comes again.
Audi Fashion Festival was here, did anyone go?
I have a few Bobbi Brown palettes of threes and fours – am thinking of getting a bigger palette to house all my Bobbi Brown items. I removed them from their individual casing and have thrown those away – looks like I don’t have much of a choice huh? How do you store your Bobbi Brown pans?
Went on a random shopping trip the other day, bought a few brightly coloured jeans and printed dresses – excited, am adding colours to my boring wardrobe of blacks and whites.
I also picked up the newest Jo Malone Plum Blossom Cologne and I like it paired with French Lime Blossom. Together, they create a burst of freshness with a slight twist of sweet floral notes on me. The limited edition Plum Blossom Cologne comes in 30ml sizes too.
After much thinking and considering, I finally picked up a Clarisonic – loving it so far. Have been on a search for a new eye cream and I am currently trying Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye (for night) and Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment (for day).
On a boring afternoon, I went through my samples’ cabinet and decided to take out some of the fragrances to try. Some of them have been with me for a while and if I don’t use them, they will evaporate.
All of them are in little glass vials and they are;-
-
Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin
-
Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise
-
Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial
-
Chanel Gardénia
-
Chanel Jersey
-
Illamasqua Freak
-
Maison Francis Kurkdjian APOM pour femme
Compact foundations! When one brand launches a new compact foundation, 5 other brands launches theirs too and this applies to many other items (for example whitening range we saw beginning of the year). Currently trying the ones above but doing so very slowly.
Thank you for being understanding and patient – I want to try them properly and provide more insights but I am trying to limit myself to 2-4 weeks per product.
Moving onto more recent activities, many thanks to Amy and Jerlene for bringing Kas and I on a road trip to Johor. We visited the Johor Premium Outlets, had lunch at KSL City Mall and completed our day trip at City Square were Inglot is located.
It was exhausting but fun.
So, this little updates’ entry wasn’t little after all huh?
Let’s end this post with The Avengers. Awesome, awesome movie – I can watch it all over again at the cinema. It was entertaining and the humor was incredible. Which hero do you like most? I am loving Thor and Captain America =) And of course Iron Man is sexy – my sister likes Hawkeye.
What have you been up to lately? And thank you for reading – happy Sunday.
I loved reading this post, Joey, with all your random thoughts and activities. 🙂 My fave photo is the one of the whitening foundies! 😉 *hugs*
Thank you Mag xx
