Hello everyone, have been a long time since I did a look and I am sure you have spotted a few changes – let me know what you think of the new layout with pointers instead of paragraphs.
Personally, I find it easier to read and a little neater. I am also trying not to mention products being used in the steps below as I realised not everyone may own the same items. Instead, I have provided some descriptions – for a full list of products used in the look, as usual, click on the read more button.
Hope you like this look, remember to let me know what you think in the comments below.
Face
A little more complicating than my usual routine as I am testing the new camera and lightings. Despite the complicating steps, I am really happy with the flawless results.
-
Prep face with a primer to add radiance to skin.
-
Apply foundation to even up skin tone.
-
Set center of the face with a pale pink loose powder – this will help brighten up the undereye area, T-zone and chin.
-
Set outer corners of the face with a slightly darker powder – by doing so, I am creating a seamless contour which makes my face appear sharper (a great way to recycle powders that no longer match your skin tone).
-
Lightly dust a small amount of Make Up For Ever HD Powder over for a flawless, high-definition finish.
Eyes
Very simple with minimal products featuring NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Paramaribo. Substitute Paramaribo with any other duo, this method will work too.
-
Apply an eye primer to help prolong wear of eyeshadow.
-
Apply light green eyeshadow all over the lids, stop just under the crease – blend with a fluffy brush.
-
Tight line upper lash line with a deep forest green eyeliner.
-
Apply the same eyeliner along the upper lids and soften edges with the dark green eyeshadow from the duo.
-
Use any semi-matte or matte brown eyeshadow to create a soft shadow along the outer corners of your crease – this will help deepen your eyes, making them look more define.
-
Use any semi-matte or matte cream/vanilla eyeshadow under your brows and blend together with the light green to bring the eyeshadows together.
-
Apply a brown eyeliner to 3/4 of the lower lash line, soften edges with the dark green eyeshadow from the duo.
-
I have also applied a shimmery copper/beige eyeliner to the inner corners of my lower lash line – this will help brighten the eyes.
-
Apply mascara and some false eyelashes if needed.
Cheeks
Because the eyes are nice and bright, I have decided to keep the cheeks rather subtle with only two products to match the lipstick.
-
Use a soft pink brown blush to sculpt the cheek bones.
-
Add a touch of dusty rose/coral blush to the apples of the cheeks.
Lips
My lips are usually quite dry so I always prep my lips with some form of lip balm before I start putting on makeup. By the time my makeup is almost ready, my lips are soft and nice for lipstick application.
-
Prep lips with lip balm/primer/lip essence.
-
Apply a sheer/satin brown tone lipstick to complete the look – if you want something brighter, try a coral nude or coral beige lip colour.
Thank you for looking.

Joey, you look so pretty ! I’m always love reading your blog !
Morning Grace,
Thank you so much for your support!!
It’s the camera angle and lighting I think =)
I have to say, as soon as I came to your homepage, this post was at the top I thought “WOW!” I was seriously impressed with the quality of the photographs, that change was so apparent that it was my first thought before registering anything else! I wanted to ask if you were using a new camera, until I scrolled down and saw the post on it. It’s really great!
Oh and nice look. I like this layout too.
Morning Eli,
Thank you so much!!
I am so happy that you like the photos and new layout for this look =)
I love this format so much better, in pointers instead of paragraphs. Previously, I was too lazy to read the paragraphs but now I find that it’s so much easier to read. Love the look !!
Many thanks Mei Ping =)
So glad that this format is easier!!
Hi Joey, I am so impressed with your photos. I’ve never heard of the Ring light of this canon camera before. lol! I’m so naive. And you and your boyfriend is uber sweet – I had to laugh with his expression. It’s so typical of men to exaggerate their poses. I’m really looking forward to even more FOTDs from you. I don’t understand what you mean by flaws. Your everything is perfect and flawless!
Hi Tracy,
Thank you so much for your kind comments..
He hates the pictures I have uploaded, lol..
Oh, when I zoom in, I can see every pore so clear, it’s scary!!
Hi Joey, i like how the photos now present an edgier side! I love it!
On a sidenote, could you please comment or do a revieww of the Lunasol concealer palette? I have been longing to buy it, but am not sure how it will work on undereye area, freckles and small blemishes. Would you recommend it for these areas? Thanks!
Hi Huiping,
Thank you for your kind comments!!
I will post a quick overview of the concealers I have..
The Lunasol Concealer Palette is quite creamy, I usually use it for my undereye area..
Still testing it, shall update =)
Luv ur look! 😉
Joey, could u do a post on Looks for Attending Wedding Dinner? I have a dinner in 2 weeks’ time and I’m really running out of ideas!!! Please inspire me with your ideas!
