Hello everyone, this Summer, Lunasol has released another blush – the Glowing Powder Cheeks in EX 03 Pure Coral Pink. Personally, I adore blushers with a good mix of orange and pink because I find them a lot easier to match my choice of lipsticks.
Despite the lack of originality in packaging and uniqueness in colour from my last purchase, I have decided to give this product another chance.
The packaging is exactly similar to Lunasol Glowing Powder Cheeks in EX 02 Pure Pink (reviewed here) released earlier this year. Not sure if it’s just mine but the cover fits rather loosely, I can’t pick up the product from the top because the cover will fall off. Does yours fit loosely too?
The blush is divided into two portions equally with a soft shimmery baby pink on the left and soft shimmery coral on the other.
Swatches below taken under natural lighting, without flash on dry arm. We have the pink on the left, followed by the coral and the third swatch shows both colours mixed together.
Below, I have the pink from EX 03 Pure Coral Pink (left) swatched beside EX 02 Pure Pink (right). As you can probably tell, they are quite similar but I find EX 02 Pure Pink a little more pigmented. This similarity makes me wonder if the coral side will be similar to EX 01 Pure Coral?
Like Lunasol Glowing Powder Cheeks in EX 02 Pure Pink, the texture is ultra-fine and adheres to the skin beautifully – almost cream-like. This blush doesn’t bears any particular scent as well. This colours also have decent colour payoff and blends evenly on the skin. It can be layered on for more intensity.
In the above picture, I am wearing EX 03 Pure Coral Pink without any base. It’s natural and subtle when applied lightly.
Bottom line, a nice blush with illuminating effects but for the price, I might not even look into purchasing another blush from this series unless the colour is very unique.
Lunasol Glowing Powder Cheeks in EX 03 Pure Coral Pink retails at S$60 for 6g of product, made in Japan.
Thank you for reading.
I agree with you on the packaging! I love this blush so much but the packaging is just not nice.
How I wish lunasol would release this kind of blush in a better packaging
Hi Meryl,
Totally!! Looking forward to seeing their Fall’s collection and fingers crossed, they will produce better packaging =)
xx
Mine also fits loosely too! Originally, I thought mine was defective. Possibly not?
I’ve noticed anything with a slight orange undertone looks great on you! Thank you for reviewing this! 😀
Hi Rachel,
Thank you for letting me know, I thought mine was defective too..
Looks like there’s some sort of production error?
Thank you so much for your kind comments, I think it’s cos of my skin tone..
xx
hi dear love your look here =) can i ask which primer you’re always using?
Thank you so much =)
I use different primers under different foundations and depending on the look and my skin’s condition of the day..
Sorry, a bit complicating..
very pretty luminescent color!
Agree =)
Lovely colors, but the packaging reminds me too much of the benefits blushes. Although it is cute looking, I prefer the old packaging.. It looked better and had more luxurious feel to it. Isnt Lunasol more expensive than benefit?!
Hi dear,
Yes, it’s more expensive than Benefit =(
I wish they will work on the packaging for Fall’s collection..
Hi, lippy is pretty… what’s that?
