This Summer, Burberry released a small collection consisting of a highlighting compact and 4 lip mists called Iconic Nudes – featuring translucent shades that reflects a healthy, glowing complexion – very modern, chic and easy to wear.

I only picked up the highlighting compact from this set and I am enjoying it.

Inspired by the iconic Burberry colour palette, this highlighting compact gently highlights and defines the face and eyes in one effortless application.

The Burberry Sheer Summer Glow Natural Highlighting Compact is housed in a metallic check casing with mirror, heavy and sturdy. Comes with a soft check-embossed pouch – this item just shouts luxe to me in every way, not to mention it bears a soft, delicate petal scent.

There are four soft shimmering nude-tone shades in this palette – together, these shades create a soft focus sheen when applied onto the cheek bones, cupid’s bow, chin and forehead. Use a big, fluffy brush and lightly dust product over the entire face for a tender glow. For those who are wondering, the shimmers do not emphasize pores nor fine lines as they are very, very finely milled.

Like always, I usually swirl my brush lightly over all four shades for application. For my skin tone, all four shades blends nicely together to create a subtle luminous glow. If you are fairer or would like to have a brighter, more obvious highlight, use a smaller brush to pick up the 2 lighter shades. I do that with a MAC 225.

Vice-a-versa, if you would like to have a more defined result, use the 2 darker shades.

Burberry Beauty mentioned that this palette is suitable for all skin tones and I can see that. All four shades are versatile, one can mix and match with various density to create your own unique tone. I think the shades will look very flattering on all skin tones because it contains nudes with neutral, pink and yellow undertones.

Probably one of the most beautiful highlighters this season. Texture of all the shades are soft and velvety, feels almost cream-like – very similar to their eyeshadows tho which is absolutely lovely to have. If you are up for some subtle, natural, healthy, glowing skin this Summer, this is surely for you.

During a recent Burberry workshop, the BA did a simple demonstration on how to use this product. She used the lighter shades to highlight, deeper shades to contour and a mixture of them shades to define the model’s eyes (socket and brow bones). I guess a highlighting compact doesn’t gets any more versatile than this right?
