Givenchy Croisiere Makeup Collection For Summer 2012 is here – well, since about 2 weeks ago. They are available at Sephora ION (remember to use your 10% discount voucher if you have). When it comes to Givenchy collections, I always pick up items not on my shopping list; not that I have a physical shopping list but what I have in mind after looking at previews online.
In my mind, I was hoping to pick up one of the three Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder and both the Ombre a Fleur de Peau Eyeshadow. I didn’t see the bronzers and wasn’t too impressed with the cream eyeshadows (they seem to take too long to set which makes me wonder if they will crease).
Have you tried the cream eyeshadows? If you have, what are your thoughts?
You can find swatches of the Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder on Mostly Sunny here. Givenchy has also released a few new brushes, view them on Makeup By Joyce here. And lastly, review and swatches of Ombre a Fleur de Peau Eyeshadow in No.1 Pearly Rose can be found on Beauty Junkie here.
Instead of getting the bronzer and cream eyeshadows, I picked up the Rouge Interdit in 56 Delicate Rose [S$42 for 3.5g, made in France]. Unlike the usual dusty rose lip colours I tend to go for, Delicate Rose is quite vivid. It’s sweet and delicate and I have always admire the soft sheen of these lipstick range.
I couldn’t resist the smoothness of the Magic Kajal Eye Pencil in 2 Delicate Nude [S$36 for 2.6g, made in Germany]. Comes with a sharpener which is thoughtful and convenient. It spreads across my arm (when swatching) very smoothly and it’s very creamy. Glides on without tugging and it’s very well pigmented.
Yet to find out how it performs.
And the third and last item I picked up is Vernis Please! Nail Lacquer in 179 Delicate Brown [S$30 for 5.5ml, made in France]. I am in love with the rich chocolate-brown. Swatches of this nail polish is on its way.
Thank you for looking.
Hi.. I applied Nars primer underneath the cream shadow and they didn’t crease… The sparkles are gorgeous, brightens up the eyelid beautifully… And yes, I didn’t like that it takes a long time to set!
Thanks for sharing Pearl!!
Do you set the cream shadow with powder shadow on top?
No I didn’t… but tried using a dark brown powder eye shadow to shade my outer corner a little to add depth and the cream shadow moved slightly… I left it as it is as the sparkles with pinch of pink base were pretty enough to be used alone. I don’t put on falsies so liner is a must… I didn’t track how long it took to set but I went back to liner upper lash line with UD eye shadow pencil, slightly more than 5mins later and no issues. It is an expensive cream given such quality. Didn’t get a chance to do a 2nd try since I don’t have many 5 minutes to wait at 6am. The good side is that it showed up nicely on my skintone… and I believe we are in the same shade!
